Just because you're cooking for a crowd doesn't mean you have to forgo the high quality and reliability of Le Creuset cookware. With the Le Creuset Flame Orange 8-qt. Enamel on Steel Stockpot, you get a stunning look and even heating capability. Instead of the usual cast-iron construction Le Creuset is known for, this pot is made of lightweight stainless steel coated in a double layer of enamel, so you don't get overburdened when lifting a pot full of bisque, chili, stew or gumbo. The large 8-quart capacity holds enough food to dish out meals for the whole extended family, or you can prepare large quantities of stock or soup to freeze and use later. There's even enough room to boil up to six ears of corn at once. This stockpot comes with a domed chrome-rimmed lid that seals tightly to ensure the return of moisture to food as it cooks, and the knob at the top is heat-resistant. Two triple-welded side handles make it easy to lift and transport the whole pot, whether you're shifting it between burners or bringing it to the table to serve a meal. Le Creuset has been producing enameled cookware since 1925, and the whole line is easy to use and simple to clean. The Le Creuset Flame Orange 8-qt. Enamel on Steel Stockpot is dishwasher safe, and the odor-resistant enamel coating on the inside ensures that food doesn't stick to the pot to make cleanup difficult. The bright-orange exterior lends a cheery note to your kitchen, and it matches well with other Le Creuset pieces in the same standout shade. This piece comes with Le Creuset's unique 101-year manufacturer's warranty.
Steel core with enamel coating for even heat distribution
Who would ever think there would be so much to selecting a good stock pot? This one is an excellent choice though, and special kudos to cooking.com. First, the pot itself is perfect for soups and stocks. I make a lentil and barley soup the first time I used it, and given the make up of the soup, anything short of perfect heat distribution would have resulted in burning or staining of the interior finish. None of this happened. The soup was perfect, and the pot cleaned up quickly and easily. As to cooking.com, they had this pot on sale during the Christmas season. It was out of stock, and when it had come back in, it was back to regular price, even though a customer service person had said it would still be at the sale price. To keep it short, when I brought this up, cooking.com honored the sale price. That is sizzling customer service. Great product, great retail company, great service. What more can you ask?
This is my first really nice, (read expensive) stock pot. I have had cheap ones over the years, always saying next time...well I spent more and it was worth it! The quality is there, no chips or cracks, and it is a beautuful pot. This is also a nice heavy pot that does everything you'd expect. I have made 3 batches of soup since I got it and am ready for more!
It is a great pot that retains heat very well. I cooked a pot of chili last night by sauteing the meat and onion in the pot to develop the brown bits for flavor and then simmer the whole thing in the pot. No burn spot. The heat was distributed evenly. I am so happy that I finally find a pot that works. And it is not too heavy.
This brand is known for being heavy-duty-pass-down through generations quality. Since the original price was mid $150, I thought these were the prefect gift for my children, and I ordered 4. What I received was just a mere shadow of the quality of my old pots, just a shadow. No iron core, just light metal, made in Thailand, not France, nothing like what I expected. Very disappointed.
This 8 qt stockpot is so beautiful in fennel green that I leave it setting out as an "ornament" as well as a cooking pan! It also cooks and cleans up easily. I'm very glad I purchased it and highly recommend!
I was excited to get the new pot, but disappointed when I took it out of the box. All the paint was scratched off part of one of the handles, right down to bare metal. I contacted cooking.com, who immediately sent a new pot and emailed me a return label. The new pot came, and you guessed it, one of the handles was scratched. I contacted them again and was provided with three options. I chose to keep the pot and they offered a partial discount returned to my bank account. The pot is still nice, but I would not say quality control is up to standards set by the brand. I was very happy with cooking.com and will definitely purchase future product here if the price is right.
The pot and lid both had a small dent in the same area. I debated about returning them, but the dent was small and I didn't want to go throught the hassle. It made me think I should have bought at a local store, since I would have checked the merchandise for dents before purchasing! The pot itself is great. Good looking, great size, performs well. I've made several pots of soup in it and am pleased. I do think it's pretty expensive.
This medium sized pot is perfect for making soups/stews/sauce for a couple or small family. Most everything I've seen was way too large. I am pleased with the quality of this piece and am looking forward to using it alot!
