Any backyard barbecue lover will tell you that the key to making the best burgers on the block is to pre-season the beef and grind your own meat. This way you control the flavor, as well as the coarseness of texture and fat content. Countertop grinders are great, but hand cranking is exhausting and electric grinders are a waste of space and hard to clean. The KitchenAid® Food Grinder Attachment is the perfect tool to bridge the gap and make grinding meat both fast and easy. The attachment easily mounts onto the power hub of any KitchenAid stand mixer and allows you to coarsely or finely grind any type of meat for making burgers, sausages, stews, sauces and meat loaf. It also works wonders as a grinder for harder cheeses such as parmesan, Manchego or pecorino, as well as for grinding fresh vegetables for salsas, sauces and soups. The included stomper makes it easy to feed the grinder while keeping your hands safely above the feeder.
Best Used For:
Burgers, sausage, meat loaf, meatballs, bread crumbs, cheeses and vegetable purees.
Why We Love It:
Because grinding your own beef for homemade burgers is healthier, fresher and far more fun than buying prepackaged frozen patties.
For grinding everything from raw meat for fresh burgers to hard bread for bread crumbs
Transforms your KitchenAid stand mixer into a versatile food grinder that uses the power of the motor to help you tackle a variety of tasks
Power hub-mounted attachment includes stomper and removable coarse and fine grinder plates
I first thought that grinding meat was a big deal, it's not. This grinder works great I love it! The only thing that you have to make shure is that the ring that holds the grinding plate it place is not too tight. This will put exsessive stran on the motor. I put it on just untill it stops and no more, because the auger is pushing the meat aganst the plate with alot of presher and keeps the ring tight. Makeing the ring too tight will most likely burn up the motor in your mixer. I hope that this helps anyone who has had this problem.
I have the old OLD grinder that was my grandmothers, then my mothers & now mine, but I have the wrong kind of counter tops and table to be able to clamp it to. I've had my Kitchenaid mixer for 20+ years and have wanted the attachments for it. Now I have them... Very easy to use & I'm glad I bought them.
I was so excited to get my new grinder attachment. I couldn't start with a plain hamburger, oh no, I had to make chicken sausage. The grinder worked perfectly! I cut the chicken breast into about one inch pieces, went thru the grinder like butter. Easy clean up. And I know I will have the best hamburgers, brats, and sausages at my next BBQ, because I'll know what's in them! :)
I really like it. I have used it to grind tuna like my mother in law use to make. It did a real good job. I used the largest size disc but I wish it had one a little larger holes so the tuna would be a little courser.
I made pork sausage the day this arrived. It ground 2.5 lbs of pork quickly. This grinder was recommended by one of the recipes I found on the internet. The grinder recommends you cut the meat in strips, the recipe in cubes. I'm going to try cubes next as the strips did seem to jam up.
I gave my first food grinder attachment to my sister she loved it so much.. Anyway Went to visit her and we decided to make some English breakfast bangers. (sausages) Had to grind the pork. It worked awesome. Did the job great. Anyway she was so impressed, I left it for her and ordered another one.
We lost my grandfather's hand grinder in the 2011 flood. Since then I have not found an affordable grinder that allow me to grind ALL the ingredients at once. Though it was the first time with the attachment, I made extra, Darn glad I did - we ate the whole thing..
I love that I can now determine the fat content in my ground meat. I also enjoy having more control over the foods we consume. This grinder is amazing for a variety of foods. And I completely trust Kitchen aid.
This is a replacement for a Kitchenade grinder that I bought in 1983 when I purchased my stand mixer. I've had many years of excellent use from this machine and it's attachments. The housing on the grinder cracked about a year ago and I've been watching for a replacement and this was a deal I couldn't turn down. I use and abuse my Kitchenade at least twice a week. I make everything from Bread to sausage with this equipment and have nothing except praise for its durability and ruggedness. The only problem I have now is that I have to put a towel under the machine when using it. The rubber legs are long worn off.
