Versatile Food Grinder

This is a replacement for a Kitchenade grinder that I bought in 1983 when I purchased my stand mixer. I've had many years of excellent use from this machine and it's attachments. The housing on the grinder cracked about a year ago and I've been watching for a replacement and this was a deal I couldn't turn down. I use and abuse my Kitchenade at least twice a week. I make everything from Bread to sausage with this equipment and have nothing except praise for its durability and ruggedness. The only problem I have now is that I have to put a towel under the machine when using it. The rubber legs are long worn off.

Great Item for the price

This was a purchase I wanted for a while and was surprised it was plastic when it arrived I will like to see how it holds up over time. But for now I’m really impressed with its function

Multi-purpose grinder

I have found this grinder to work well with meats, lamb, pork,etc., and with conch. The texture of conch is important in fritters and I have found this product works well.

I followed advice of other reviewers and flash froze the meats pieces. Pay attention if machine starts to lag and ease up. Not fast but relatively efficient. Great fresh ground burgers!

I haven't used it yet, but I plan to use it soon. It looks sturdy and I can't wait to use it. I'm going to utilize some of the meat I have in the freezer and make chili. I can't wait!

This is an economical way and healthy way to know what you are putting into your own prepared food. I like the fact that I know what goes into my ground meat.

The grinder did a great job. The meat was a perfect size and it was so easy to use.

good grinder

its a very nice grinder but the tray is a little small and makes you work harder than you should have to but would buy it again for the price and ease. Makes the mixer get warm if use for a while but worked great for 5 lbs of meat. Recommend freezing the meat for 35-45 mnutes before use.

I bought a Kitchen-aid stand mixer because of the accessories. It replaced a 30 yr old Oster Kitchen Center. This grinder worked better than the Oster. I love the fact it has 2 choices for grinds, fine & coarse. I used it to make ham salad, but I plan on making my own ground meat for burgers very soon!

Great Grind

Worth investment if your'e looking to grind your own meats or vegetables at nominal cost. Cutter is designed well so that it cuts on either side (eliminates concern of properly installing). Could use a third (middle) extruder plate between coarse and fine, but simply running through a second time on either plate will suffice. Important to follow instructions to partially freeze 1" or 2" strips or chunks prior to grinding. Only concern is running mixer more than 10 of 15 minutes. It heats up noticeably. Attachment should be used for moderate grinding of 2-4 lbs per session. Cleans up nicely, have yet to put dishwasher-safe parts in dishwasher.

Healthy choices made simple.

Grinding my own meats makes it simple to know what the product actually is. No mechanically extracted meats added by the grocery chain in our food. This helps me to control the quality of the foods we eat.
I found that strips of beef need to be very lean cuts and partially frozen to be sure the knife can cut through the sinew. Chicken breasts nearly frozen are a snap to grind.
Very good quality and will be a huge cost savings over a very short period of time, especially when entertaining large dinner parties.

I love my food grinder. I have already used this attachment for grinding a chuck roast into some of the best ground chuck I have ever had Yum! Yum! the grinder is so very easy to clean. My husband also gives this product a thumbs up. They suggest to use partially frozen meat and I will try this next time. I was very happy with the results using this food grinder. I'm eager to try ham salad next.

Kitchen Aid Attachmenet

I am pleased with this item as I can grind cranberries and oranges to make relish. I can also grind steak to make my own ground meat for patties.

Works great!

I just ground my first 4 lbs of beef chuck and am very happy with this versatile attachment. I was pleased to learn that most of the pieces are dishwasher safe, too. It's going to be great being able to grind my own lean meats when I take advantage of sale prices.
