Making homemade sauces allows you to turn fresh produce and unique ingredients into a flavorful accompaniment for your meal. The Cuisipro Food Mill separates liquid and mashed food from the seeds and skins of fruits and vegetables, giving you a rich sauce with a smooth texture. As you turn the mill's handle, a plastic blade scrapes along the bottom, forcing liquid or mashed food through to the bowl or pot underneath. The mill includes three interchangeable disks, in sizes 2 mm, 3 mm and 4 mm, for grinding food to a fine or coarse consistency. Nonslip coverings on the handles make them easy to grip and help keep the mill in place while you crank the handle. When you use the food mill to make sauces, soups or baby food, you can control the amount of salt and spice included to create dishes that meet your family's dietary preferences. The large bowl holds up to 2.3 quarts of food, and the mill comes apart for easy cleaning.
Best Used For:
Simmer a Mexican mole sauce for hours, and then use the Cuisipro Food Mill to remove the chili pepper skins. Grind potatoes, carrots and apples for homemade baby food that is smooth enough for early eaters.

Jack, This Cuisipro Food Mill has made me some very good tomato sauce using the little phamphlet that comes with the mill. The mill has three disc that have different size holes! I have used one for tomato sauce and one for apple sauce. I followed the guidlines in the little phamphlet and bolled 8 apples and also added 4 brown pears and boiled them separately. It said I could boil them in water or apple juice so I used half water and half juice to boil the apples and the pears. I put them together and it made a very good apple sauce, and the sauce was thick and not so soft as what you buy in the store. According to the little phamphlet I added some apple juice into the mix when it was finished to soften and thin the product. The 'Oven-Roasted Fresh Tomato Sauce' was also very firm and has a very good taste. I have a lot of allergies but the little phamphlet said to just add some Italian Seasxoning and I am not allergic to this. The textujre of the sauce has bigger and firmer lumps than store bought sauces, and the taste is very fine! I am about to use some of the tomato sauce and mix it with some Rice Vinegar, fructose sugar, a little apple sauce, some tomato paste, and a little salt and put them in my Cuisinart Convection Bread Maker and make me some Thick Chutney or what I hope will be ketchup. My allergies require that I make a lot of things which don't contain cane or beet sugar or nuts and things made from nuts. I use fructose sugar and now I enjoy these foods and have no problem with sinus headaches or any allergic reactions! Glory be to Jesus for his great blessings! I hope you enjoy using your food mill too! Sincerely Yours...
