only one size insert included. grates very fine, too small for most purposes. Only works well on very hard foods, which require hard pressure from the hands, which goes against the purpose of Good Grips tools for people with hand problems. Also, does not convert to left handed.

Bought as an ergonomic replacement of the Pampered Chef mocel, and this Oxo model is TERRIBLE in all ways.

Cheeze Grater

by RAY H, MD

Of the many graters I have used, this is by far the best. The only drawback we have found is that the handle will eventually fall off. The little burrs that hold the handle on may fail. The solution we applied was to drill a hole through the back of the handle and drive a drywall screw through the crank into the handle. The screw is too long, but can be backed out, the tip broken off with pliers and the screw put back into the threaded hole in the handle. While this sounds like a lot, it is really very simple and worth the effort because of the general quality and effectiveness of the grater. It is wonderful!

Excellent for finishing dishes for presentation. Silicon seals and cap do a great job sequestering the tiniest bits of cheese for quick and convenient storage.

It works well if you want only a finely grated cheese. For instance, it does a good job with parmesan for pasta, but you can't really use it for anything else. I think the storage idea is nice but because you can't take all the pieces apart, I find it difficult to hand wash.

Great (no pun intended) product. Our peccorino grates feathery soft. Easy to clean - the handle unscrews to disassemble. The seals keep the cheese in the grater fresh - not an easy feat in our refrigerator. Two downsides: cannot be used lefthanded; the handle's plastic thread will eventually break (this is our second unit). But - it works so well that when this one breaks, we'll buy another!

This is my second Seal and Store Cheese grater. The design is great and I would buy another one. This is my second because the handle on the original broke off where it attaches to the grater. (This may be because I was getting close to the rind while grating Parmesan.) I bought another because, otherwise, it works well and the seal around the "pusher" really seals. On the new one, the handle did not stay on tightly, but that was easily fixed with a standard "o" ring. I still recommend it because it grates and stores cheese beautifully.

I find myself putting cheese on everything now! It's easy to use and durable. The air-tight cap was an especially good idea.

Great grater!

by ANNE, AZ

This grater hits all the bases. It grates the cheese finely and thoroughly. It also has the cap that allows me to store the cheese in the cheese grater. So, instead of grating the cheese and then having to take the cheese out and put it in a storage container, the cheese gets stored in the grater, which is REALLY convenient. I used to cut my fingers using the long microplane-type graters. With this, my fingers are intact!

Excellent choice

This grater is very well made, and the really special thing is the seal for the cheese which allows you to keep it in the refridgerator . . . a great plus. The engineering of the piece is good, as well . . .comfortable in your hands.

OXO Cheese Grater Seal and Store is perfect

by Gerry, CA
July 17, 2011

The grater is great. It is so easy to grate cheese, better than a grating box or hand held grater. The best part is that is you can store the cheese in the grater and just grab it and use it. The cheese has to be cut the proper size to fit in the grater but once that is done it is easy to use and the cheese doesn't dry out. My 20 year old son thought this was just perfect for him and he uses it all the time.

Awesome

by Susan, MT

I immediately used the grater for fresh parmesan cheese on a fettucini dish - my husband told me that made it a gourmet meal! It also works great to zest lemon peel. I love being able to store the unused portion in the grater and it is fairly easy to clean when done. It all comes apart for easy cleaning, but the cheese may wedge into corners on the inside - a brush takes care of that. I love it.

I've only used it once but overall I seems well made and easy to operate.I like the feature of being able to cut a wedge off a block and grate it then store the left overs.I'd recommend it.
