Whether you plan on hosting an elaborate wine and cheese social on the weekend or you simply crave a few slices of havarti on your turkey sandwich at lunchtime, turn to the Wusthof Gourmet Cheese Plane. It's the ideal tool for creating even slices of any semi-hard or hard cheese with no fuss and little effort. As with all pieces in Wusthof's Gourmet line, this cheese plane is crafted in Germany from high-grade stainless steel that has been precisely cut with a laser, resulting in an incomparably high-performance blade that does its job effortlessly and stays sharp after many uses. This cheese plane is a must-have for any meal that requires you to prepare a lot of slices quickly and neatly. The Wusthof Gourmet Cheese Plane offers balance and flexibility while you slice thanks to full-tang steel, which is attached securely to the handle with a classic three rivets. We're certain that with this practical and easy-to-use cheese plane you'll find yourself snacking on slices of cheese and crackers a lot more often.
Best Used For:
The exact spacing of this cheese plane's blade results in thin, perfect slices that are just right for melting on top of a burger, making a grilled cheese or topping an open-face ham and Swiss. Use it for perfectly sized cheddar slices for snacking, thin shreds of Parmigiano-Reggiano to top your Caesar salad, or make uniform slices of Swiss cheese for your next hors d'oeuvres platter.
Harder and harder to find things that are not made in China, so I was delighted to find that Wusthof made a cheese plane like the ones used in Norway. I have Wusthof knives for more that 40 years, so I'll bet these cheese planes (I bought 3) will out last me!
