It didn't grind as thoroughly as I'd hoped--I have to grind the same wheat at least twice to get fine enough flour to make bread with. On the upside, it's easy to clean, and is a LOT smaller than most wheat grinders. If you have a kitchenaid, and are fanatic about making bread, it's worth considering.

A good grain mill

I bought this mill to supplement a K-Tech that I've used for years. I wanted the coarser grind and for that, the Kitchen Aid works very well. I've used it for corn and wheat.

The grain mill is up front about its abilities and what performance the user should expect. I have been very satisfied with this attachment.

Good, Takes a bit to get the grind just right, but overall it does the job fine.

The kind of machine that opens up new avenues of culinary exploration. My only wish is that it would grind coarser still.

Solid and dependable

This is the first attachment I've used with my KitchenAid, and the first grain mill I've used but I found the whole setup to work very well. I'm pleased with the heavy solid design of this product, and satisfied with its performance.

K.A. Grain Mill

by Steven, OK
April 19, 2010

I've used my mill 3 times now and it works well. I've used the flour for breads. Best bread, I've ever ate. Used 100% whole wheat with no problems. Mill grinds fine to coarse as it says. Construction is Kitchen Aid tough. A little noisy. It makes my mixer work but grinds quickly. I love it. This is my first mill. I would have rated it higher but have nothing to compare it to. For the price I couldn't imagine getting anything that will be as tough and lasting as this mill.

Great attachement!

As a long time kitchen aid owner, this is an attachement I have longed for. It works quite well for simply cracking whole grains or milling whole grain berries into fine, whole flour. Insufficient for milling all your flour needs, it is great for small batch milling such as making your own sprouted grain flour to add to breads. I recently made a two loaf recipe of spelt bread and in the interest of pioneering challenge, I decided to try milling all the flour required for the recipe. It was a doable task with this mill, but it took 30-40 minutes to get the 1060g needed at the finest mill setting and at the end, everything was quite hot. In the future, I will only mill a hopper's worth before letting it have a cool down period. For me, this makes whole recipe batches impractical. None the less, very happy with it!

Fast and easy

I used to use my blender, which can only do small portions at a time. I can do 5 cups of oatmeal in seconds. The results are all consistent, not uneven as it does using a blender. Love it.

The mill works well. However, I would prefer a finer ground product.
