Dual purpose. Was cooking croquettes, oil had to be 360 degrees, I was stumped for a second then remembered my thermometer and was able to use it in my pan for the oil also. Worked great!! Works great in the oven, on the grill AND on stovetop in pan. Thrilled with purchase.

Purchased the digital thermometer to use for outdoor cooking. Works well, gives fast reading when deep frying turkeys or grilling on the grill.

I was glad to see that on the newer models of the Polder thermometer/timer that the wire cord was now encased and that the wire was no longer exposed. My older Polder (same model) wire cord was not encased and eventually broke. Thanks Polder for the new design.

LOVE IT, EASY TO SET AND DON'T HAVE TO OPEN OVEN AND LOSE HEAT, AND LOUD ENOUGH TO WAKE YOU WHEN COOKING IS DONE OR NEED'S TO BE CHEACKED,
