Whether you're slicing avocado for a salad or removing the pit so that you can make homemade guacamole or a tasty sandwich spread, the Amco Green 9.5-in. Avocado Slicer and Pitter makes preparing your favorite dishes easier. Use the looped nylon end to quickly and easily slip the pit out of a cut avocado half without squishing the tender flesh of the fruit, or flip the device to use the metal wire slicing section to cut perfectly even slices that look great when presented beside a breakfast burrito or savory enchilada, or you can put them on a burger or sandwich to add a bit of Southwestern flair. Because the slicing blades are rigid, you get clean cuts that won't get mangled or smooshed when you remove them from the avocado skin. You can also use this handy gadget to slice hard boiled eggs. The comfortable handle is contoured to fit into your hand without causing strain or fatigue, so you can easily pit and slice a whole basket full of avocados to prepare a meal for a crowd. This handy gadget works best on avocados that are firm and ripe. It makes a fun and economical gift for someone who enjoys experimenting with Mexican or Southwestern recipes. As an added bonus, using this avocado slicer and pitter helps keep your food preparation area mess free, and the device itself is easy to clean when you're done with your meal.
I love avocado and eat them frequently. All you have to do is cut the avocado in half...one end of the tool removes the pit, the other end evenly slices and separates the avocado from the skin (insert the tool at the wider end of the avocado half and with doward pressure slide it toward the stem end). It works prerfectly for the California Hass avocados. It would be too small to work for the large Florida variety.
I really like this product.. it slices and removes the pit from avocado's. I am not real good at cutting evenly so this is perfect for me to make my meals look more professional. I love avocado's so this gets alot of use in my house.
I have been eating avocados for over 70 years, preparing an old fashion way using a paring knife. Finally an avocado slicer, that really works. Perfect uniform slices for salads, but more important for avocados on toast for breakfast. Quality product, easy to clean.
It's such a joy to find kitchen gadgets that do exactly what they were designed to do. If the avocado is too ripe (soft) this slicer will be no good to you. It will not make the nice and even slices because the fruit is to mushy. The joy of using it is when the avocado is firm. There are no real picture instructions that come with this tool, and while it's use is pretty straight forward (no rocket science involved) getting the hang of removing the pit, and making perfect slices is a matter of practice and use.
