Staub cast iron cookware since 1974, was developed for the finest chefs in Europe. The benefit of Staub is the self-basting spikes under the flat lids that allows for self basting and slow cooking of roasts or chicken to insure tender and moist results. Staub has 3 coats of enamel with a smooth finish on the bottom to avoid scratching. All lids have nickel or brass knobs that will endure extreme temperatures. The interior requires no pre-seasoning. Staub is the premier cookware line preferred by finest restaurants around the world.

The black matte enamel coating is indestructible; chip resistant without discoloring. It is ideal for braising, roasting, caramelizing, and has practical advantages of higher scratch & temperature resistance, longer durability and easy cleaning. The Dutch Ovens are safe for use in dishwasher, although hand washing recommended. Item can be used on all types of heat sources, including induction, and are oven safe up to 500 degrees F. • Excellent value

Yeah, it's not cheap, but it lasts a lifetime and you can use it for all sorts of foods. Compared with a similar Le Creuset, it seems to brown things better, as well. From baking bread, chili, braised foods, and roasted chicken, this thing is my favorite kitchen tool next to a chef's knife. Also it looks really pretty. I highly recommend it.

    I recommend this product.

  • Worth the money!!

This makes the best soups, stew, etc. So far I have made Gumbo and French Onion Soup. It keeps things from burning (I have a tendency to do too many things at once and get distracted.) I have also found it easy to clean.

    I recommend this product.

  • great chicken in a pot -pot

I ordered THIS dutch oven after looking at many (some more expensive and some less) the description and manufactoring information was available on cooking . com and upon receipt this information was correct. I think this purchase was a good value for offered price. This dutch oven has performed wonderfully and looks great sitting on the stove top when not in use.

    I recommend this product.

  • Perfect!

By far, this is my new favorite cooking vessel! Beautiful to look at, excellent performance and extremely durable. The ONLY drawback is that it is heavy as heck so I took extra care when handwashing it in my porcelain sink. The best!

    I recommend this product.

  • Information on product

I have not used the product yet but I love the way it looks and the way it is made. It looks sturdy and looks like I will get many years of service from it. My only complaint is the information booklet I think that is what it is it's written in several other languages but not in English. Why is that I am sure other English speaking people have purchased this product. So please tell me why it is not also in English?

    I recommend this product.

  • Superior Cooking Tool

We love our dutch oven by Staub. The quality is worth the price. We tried other dutch ovens and found them falling apart/chipping after only a couple of uses. We are 'flexitarians' who tend to cook a lot of veggie meals that we can spread out throughout the week. We choose organic, natural, and local foods and the flavors meld together and cook thoroughly in our Staub. Let us know if you have any questions, fred@organicfred.com and check out our products at www.OrganicFred.com

    I recommend this product.
