This matte gray slotted spatula from Matfer is flexible so it can lift and turn delicate fish, omelets, and other sautéed foods without injuring them. Modeled after the traditional stainless steel fish spatula, with its full-length 4 1/2" slots for draining fat and angled front edge for better maneuvering, this is the “next generation” version, made from synthetic materials that won't damage our modern nonstick surfaces. The handle is grooved for a better grip and ends with a wide notch for hanging.

I originally bought one for use with a non-stick skillet, but it became what I reach for all the time. I've included one of these in the box of cooking gadgets I've given to each of my nieces when they set up their first kitchen.

Perhaps when I am used to this I will give it a higher rating. It is very slippery and too flexible.

I wish it was more like 14 inches long. It does have a good design and the handle is curved ever so little to make it easy to use. I like the finish on it too.

I'm very pleased with this spatula. It is flexible but sturdy and has not melted around the edges, even when used for pancakes on my cast iron pan.

This is simply an excellent all purpose spatula. It is strong, smooth, and accurate in its function. You may still need a metal instrument for certain very heavy duty applications: I would not use this tool for hard scraping - to clean residues on metal pans. This is just to protect its edge from abuse, as it is not designed for that. However, virtually everything else is covered, as well as high heat tolerance. It is ergonomically correct for a right handed person. We really like this tool. Treat it right. It will treat you right.
