This matte gray slotted spatula from Matfer is flexible so it can lift and turn delicate fish, omelets, and other sautéed foods without injuring them. Modeled after the traditional stainless steel fish spatula, with its full-length 4 1/2" slots for draining fat and angled front edge for better maneuvering, this is the “next generation” version, made from synthetic materials that won't damage our modern nonstick surfaces. The handle is grooved for a better grip and ends with a wide notch for hanging.

  • MOST HELPFUL REVIEWS

  • This spatula is great. It's very thin, but strong. I initially got it to use on my nonstick skillets, but the high temp rating allows me to use it in my cast iron and stainless as well. It’s wide enough for cookies and eggs and pancakes, however the tapered end even allows me to cut butter and add it while cooking.

    I recommend this product.

  • Flexible Yet Substancial

This spatula feels good in my hand, yet still has the flexibility to easily slide under an omelet and flip it with ease. It has not shown any damage from heat, and cleans up easily. I like it!

  • Flip It

I bought this product to flip delicate foods (fish on grill, omelets, etc) and it has worked well. It is firm enough to flip, and thin enough to slip easily under food. I was worried about it melting on a hot grill, but no problem. It is highly rated by Cooks Illustrated as a Best Value over spatulas costing $60, and I see no reason to pay the extra money, unless you need to use all-metal tools!

    I recommend this product.

This spatula works well getting under fish and other delicate foods. It's great to be able to use it in a non-stick pan.

  • Love this spatula

Love this spatula. It is the best I have ever used. Had to buy another one because a family member insisted on having one and took mine. Wish it was less expensive. If it were, I would buy them as gifts for all my friends and family. Price is a little high for what it is, I think.

    I recommend this product.

  • BOUGHT 5

I BOUGHT A SPATULA FOR MYSELF AND EACH OF MY ADULT CHILDREN (IN THE HOPE THAT THE SPATULA WOULD BE AS NICE AS I EXPECTED).

THEY ARE ALL JUST AS PLEASED AS I AM.

    GOOD PRODUCT.

  • Great for fish; probably good to buy two

This works very well for turning and moving fish and other delicate foods. It keeps the food intact, but it's sturdy enough that it doesn't bend from weight or heat. I have one, but I think it would be more useful to buy two, so you would have one under the food and one on top. That would make turning very delicate fish even easier, and would keep the food from flaking or breaking when it turns over.

    I recommend this product.

  • not at all what I expected

I was very disappointed in both the size and material of this spatula. I had anticipated a larger item, also it was made of a cheap nylon and would quickly melt if used to flip something in hot oil.

  • This is the second one I've purchased. Not as a replacement but because I used my first one so often I was constantly cleaning it by hand. These spatulas are excellent. They clean up very easily and work wonderfully.

  • A wonderful addition to my tools at an amazing price. Don't let it's simple look fool you. This is truly the spatula for 2005 because its unique shape make it perfect for a variety of tasks; flipping fish fillets, turning omlettes and much more. It does everything a traditional French fish spatula can do with no worry about damaging non-stick finishes. Hey, buy two!

    I recommend this product.
