FOOD & COOKING ONLINE WRITER / EDITORIAL PRODUCER
Are you ready to move from traditional writer and editor to being a shaper of our new site, taking charge of editorial operations and becoming deeply in production and community efforts?
DUTIES:
- Assign, write and edit recipe-based articles, create menus, write blurbs, captions, intros, incidental text, newsletters, and possibly write or edit blogs and other user-contributed content; possibly develop and manage multimedia contributions, including video
- Create and maintain editorial calendar; work with content team to develop editorial themes; communicate editorial plans throughout company
- Implement and maintain top-notch copy standards; copyedit all text
- Develop, negotiate and manage content partner relationships; work with outside companies and individuals to expand content offering
- Work with content team to integrate editorial in community and shopping areas of site and to devise sales-supporting initiatives
- Create editorial events to energize and attract audience and advertisers; work with ad sales, marketing and other departments to maximize event promotion and revenue potential
- Contribute to product development and possibly (depending on candidate) write documentation, including treatments, wireframes and functional specifications; possible project management & QA of new site features
- Analyze content statistics/performance and implement functional and reporting improvements
- With Community Manager, manage, organize and champion member-contributed content; interact with customer service; develop help and FAQ services; detect and solve member and interface problems
- Special projects as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
- Three years in related field / work
- Demonstrated skill as writer, editor, copyeditor and problem-solver
- Extensive online familiarity / experience required
- Exceptional recipe, food, cooking and/or culinary experience required
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Online production / project management skills a plus
- Video skill / production experience a plus
- Development or use of Social Network services a plus
- Computer knowledge: Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Photoshop, minimal to moderate HTML
