Finance Intern
POSITION SUMMARY
Bright, analytical intern to work part time on various projects within the Finance and Operations departments. Will report directly to the Director of Financial & Operational Planning. This is an outstanding opportunity to learn first hand how an online retailer functions as this position will be exposed to a variety of disciplines. Each intern will be assigned various short-term special projects in any of these areas: Marketing, Finance, or Operation, in addition to weekly or monthly analytical reporting responsibilities. For each special project, intern is encouraged and challenged to explore different "out of the box" ways of analyzing data and provide senior management with recommendation.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Clarifies high-level business goals, turning them in the specifications to be used by developers to build applications and perform QA testing.
- Interviews business owners to scope and define and document project objectives and requirements. Highlights inconsistencies and works with business owner to develop quick resolutions to project challenges.
- Documents functional specifications to be used by developers to as a guideline for application development and testing.
- Interacts continually with the technology team and business owners throughout the project lifecycle to facilitate development and ensure project achieves objectives within timeline and budget.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Analytical ability
- Advanced Excel skills
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Experience in e-commerce and/or Retail Information Technology
