Position: Web/UI Designer
Position Summary:
As a Web/UI Designer you will be responsible for planning, conceptualizing and designing the overall site and functional user interface for new and current websites. You will collaborate with internal product teams and interface with each functional department within the organization. You will work with developers, functional groups and other designers to develop front-end web interfaces that achieve an exceptional user experience focused on the end-consumers ease of use through intuitive design.
Responsibilities:
- Provide designs for new websites
- Provide new features and functionality designs for existing sites
- Provide cosmetic and functional designs
- Communicate designs to cross-functional teams through wireframes, mockups and HTML prototypes
- Work with Production, Marketing and Customer service to validate and improve designs
- Participate through-out the development life-cycle to ensure that original design concepts are fully realized
- Participate in the definition and documentation of style guides, design principles and UI concepts
Specific Skills Required:
- Proficiency using Photoshop, Illustrator, and MS Office Suite
- Strong understanding and experience with xHTML, CSS, and Javascript
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet set deadlines
- Ability manage and prioritize multiple projects concurrently
- Work well as part of an interdisciplinary team
Preferred Skills:
- Proficiency with xHTML, CSS and Javascript
- Experience with additional web technologies, Flash, Fireworks, AJAX
Experience & Education:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in web design, with emphasis on functional design elements
- Proven experience creating design concepts and mock-ups
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience within design field required
