With over 100,000 copies in print, Artisan Bread in Five Minutes a Day has proven that people want to bake their own bread, provided they can do it easily and quickly. Knowing that people are changing the way they eat and bake because of health concerns or lifestyle choices, the authors took their established methods and applied it to breads rich in whole grains, fruits, and vegetables. Great book, techniques, recipes!
I checked this book out from the local library for several rounds before finally buying it. :) The recipes work very well at high altitude (Denver, 5280 ft elevation) - while the boules would probably rise even higher at sea level, the bread still comes out beautifully. I tend to add a bit more liquid to compensate for the dry air here... but the recipes are very forgiving and lend themselves to experimentation with little risk.0 of 0 users found this helpful.
