Nice Coffee Lesson
Interesting that Susan Zimmer of German heritage has such a vast knowledge of coffee. Not being prejudice but you might think someone of an Italian or Central American decent would be an authority. But I tell you, she knows her java!
This book is written in two parts. Part 1 gives a history of coffee, differences in various beans, and the ins and outs of various brewing methods. If you are a barista, you probably already know this. But for those of us less than knowleageable, this is a nice coffee education to establish your understanding.
Part 2 is a recipe section of hot and cold coffee drinks. Baristas should drink this section up! Personally, I'm not much into fancy drinks. Cappuccino and latte are about as fancy as I get. Otherwise I like a fresh, straight up, great quality, dark brew. But I'll try a few of these recipes for a change of pace.
