Not a Thermapen, but just as good!

I have Taylor thermomenters in my oven but really needed an instant read. After finding Taylor made one at such a great price point I decided I didnt need to throw a $100 for a Thermapen.

Works perfectly and the price is fantastic. Easy to tell when meat and fish are at that 'just right' temp.

We use this thermometer to test when a loaf of bread has come to the correct internal temperature. It works very well and the bread comes out perfectly done.

Even if you have the 'leave-in' larger thermometers that cook with a roast in oven, every cook needs this one in their 'tool box' too. If you're grilling smaller items on an outdoor BBQ or frying on stovetop, you can use this item to quickly test doneness of thinner cuts of meat such as steaks, burgers, chops, etc. You cannot use the larger ones as easily and quickly for that. Digital readout is the way to go if your vision impaired as I am.

Bought this to help with my fish tank, it works great, seems to be on target and is fast and easy. Just don't forget to shut it off!

I never owned a instant read thermometer before. But after using this one, I don't know why. No more over cooked meat! Good refresh rate too. Gives accurate readings!

Great item - reads quickly and small enough to stick anywhere. We use in the house and outside for grilling. Worth the money - comes with an extra battery which is nice.

The thermometer worked fine the first time I used it. The problem came the next time I looked at it-- the battery was dead. Every other battery-operated kitchen gadget I have ever used shuts itself off, but this thermometer does not. You have to turn it off yourself, something that I believe I will forget to do again, which will use up the whole battery. If you can remember to turn it off every single time, then it is not a problem. If you forget even once, you need a brand new battery.

This product works, but I was expecting an instant read. When I am trying to take a temperature, I find that the product kind of works it's way up to finally reach the temperature. But, it does work.

I am very pleased with the slim probe for use in the artisan breads, and for everything else I've found myself using it for. The instant read isn't quite as instant as the word indictes, but certainly pretty quick. I'm glad I am able to leave it in the oven for a little bit. And as far as expense, I paid more for this than the dial thermometer I used previously, but am so much happier with it that in that sense, I guess it was worth it. It's just quite a bit of money for the little gadget.

This was inexpensive, but it is a bit unreliable. It's great that it comes with a spare battery, especially since the battery inside ran out after 1 use. Sometimes the readings are jumbled. but eventually you get an accurate temp.

Quality thermometer. Use one all the time when I grill. Previously with the mechanical type which is not the quality of the Taylor. Makes feel like a pro. Looking foreward to better weather for outdoor grilling!

The first thermometer came with a crack in the glass. However, I called cooking.com and it was replaced right away. It works great.

We're very happy with this product... it works well and gives a quick, accurate temperature. After putzing around for so long with a regular old meat thermometer, this is just wonderful. I'd happily recommend this product. I'm also impressed that it comes with an extra battery!
