Add a touch of French culinary heritage to your kitchen with the L. Tremain .5-Cup Ivory Rose Antique Collection Butter Bell Crock. Before the invention of refrigerators, similar crocks (originally called "beurriers") were used by French chefs to keep butter sweet, fresh and spreadable.
Use this crock to keep regular salted, unsalted and compound butters fresh by creating a watertight seal around them. This unique design keeps the butter soft enough to spread easily while maintaining its freshness. For even greater convenience, keep one on the dining table and one next to the toaster. To use the butter bell crock, simply press a stick of butter into the bell piece, put about 1/4 cup of cold water into the bottom of the cup and replace the lid, bell side down. It's best to place your L. Tremain butter bell crock away from direct sunlight or heat to help maintain the proper temperature. Properly used, this device will keep your butter fresh and spreadable for weeks at a time.
Love the Butter Bell but feel the price is a little high. Received one as a gift but it was dropped and broken - had to get another one to replace it. Really liked it and I would have bought more as gifts if the price was lower or if buying multiples qualified for better pricing.
I found these crocks a while back, and I just love the convenience of soft butter for my toast or a grilled cheese sandwich. The butter keeps for weeks! I'm giving them as stocking stuffers for my whole family.
I saw this item in Wisconsin on vacation, but felt it was a risk to take home in my luggage! I googled it and found it immediately! I bought one for my 3 children and one for me and I love it! We in the South love REAL butter and this dish lets us easily spread it on everything! It holds just enough, one stick! I have never seen this product in the Deep South , so please make them available to all my friends! Love the B2GO... Will buy more for Christmas gifts! Thanks!
First time we used it worked just fine. The second time the butter fell into the water during the night. We had used Wal-Mart butter and are not sure if this was the cause. The last time it worked fine again with a different brand of butter. We love the concept of soft butter and have enjoyed it.
I have owned a butter bell crock for decades and my dear friend admired it every time she saw it. I found this Antique Collection online and realized it is a perfect match for her home style. It was wonderful to see her eyes light up on her birthday!!
I visited a friend recently whom I haven't seen for years. When I asked
for butter for my toast, she showed my her butterbell crock.
I couldn't wait to get home to order one for myself.
Love that it keeps my butter spreadable but not too soft.
Love the color too, the same red as my Fiesta salt & pepper shakers
so they look nice on the counter together.
As a 70 yr old, I thought I had every possible thing for my kitchen. This Butter Bell is indeed, unique. It's a bit intimidating at first.....always used butter in stick form! But once I found the ease of use from the crock....loved it! This will indeed be my next purchase for all family members.
I bought this, with some reservations, at the insistence of my wife. It is easy to use and seems to do everything as advertised. The real evaluation will be after it has set out for a week or so. We do not use very much butter so I am curious long this will hold up. It is a decoratife addition to our kitchen table though.
