These were simple very basic how-to books that children will find easy to follow, however I'm not sure how many people will find them visually pleasing. The books I received had black felt marker on the edges of the pages for whatever reason. They have an overall retro feeling to them - almost girl scout like. I would not purchase them again as a gift and had I purchased them as a gift you would have had them returned to you by now. Why were the books marked against the outside edges with a black felt tip marker?
