  • BIGGER SIZE BUT HARDER TO USE

Want to make several batches of cookies at once?
The larger size mixer promises great results and doesn't disappoint. The mixer has more power than the conventional stand mixer and makes quick work of incorporating ingredients.

I found the mixer bowl to be a little hard to handle; it sits precariously on two posts outside the perimeter of the bowl. Getting the bowl nestled in just so took longer than the smaller mixer's twist bowl bottom configuration. The mixer head does not lower into the bowl; instead the bowl rises to meet the beater. i wanted to adjust the head downward slightly for a tighter fit; but the mixer doesn't currently have an adjustment for the top.

The mixer has a larger footprint than the smaller Kitchenaid mixer; and I miss the ease in using the smaller appliance. The mixer has more power but the question is; do you need it?

I think I traded in my BMW for a Suburban. Great mixer, lots of space for big jobs. But for everyday use, I want my smaller Kitchenaid stand mixer back.

  • Best Stand Mixer

This 6 quart stand mixer from Kitchen Aid is the best I have ever owned.

It is extremely sturdy, with a huge bowl, and it has been able to handle everything I have thrown at it.

No wobbling, no hesitating, no whining.

I find I spend much less time scraping down the sides of the bowl with this new wider bowl.
The fact that I can adjust the position of the paddle, etc. with one little screw, makes all the difference in the world as to whether my ingredients get mixed together or not.
No more finding flour or cream cheese left on the bottom or corners of the bowl.

The fact that the bowl lifts up to the mixer is something new to me and I love it. My old mixer was a 'flip-top' and I used to worry it would flip right into the next county, if I wasn't careful. No need to worry now! The lever is quick and smooth, and when you lock it into place, you know you are ready (and safe) to go.

    I recommend this product.

  • I am very happy with my new mixer. It has a nice large bowl and does a great job.Everything from mashed potatoes to bread dough comes out perfect, with no effort on my part! I even tried divinity (which would have killed my hand mixer)and it had no problem at all even after 20 minutes.Best of all it frees me for other things while it does the work.I would recommend it to anyone.

  • Great Product

We bought our first Kitchen Aid Mixer over 15 years ago and it still works like the day we bought it. We decided to upgrade to a stand design for the added capacity and stronger motor for operating many of the attachments that demand more torque. Making pasta using the attachments is very taxing on these motors but the Pro 600 does the job with ease. The power of the Pro 600 simply blew us away. These are amazing machines and they are so versatile everybody should own one. The Pro 600 is a great one whether you are buying your first one or upgrading like we did.

  • Very good Kitchen Aid

It is doing a fine job as I make all our bread and usually about 12 cups of flour. I like it better than my Exectrolux Assistant.

  • Love my KA Mixer

We have already used our new KA mixer to make bread, ground beef and sausages (chorizo, italian and lamb). Grinding the meat was great. We had the best burgers and meatloaf with it. The sausages were a bit more difficult to make, but once we got the art of filling the sausages without air pockets it was great.
However, there are a few things that are not so good. First of all, it already had a piece come off the mixer, the metal clasp where the attachements go came off. Without it the attachments are loose and don't work as well. So we are going to have the mixer replaced. Secondly, the plastic pusher does not work so well. I wish it came with the wooden pusher that is on the picture. And lastly, I do wish the paddle and hook were made out of stainless steel for what this mixer costs. The current ones seem very flimsy.

    I recommend this product.

  • Powerful mixer at a great price

We skipped the smaller kitchenaid mixers and went straight to this beast. The holidays provided nice discounts, rebates and free shipping. The final price wasn't too far off from the smaller model. So far we love it. Cookies and cakes are a breeze. So is the usual fare. Haven't tried bread yet, but based on how powerful this mixer is, I'm sure it will do just fine. My only word of advice is that if you don't bake much or do larger than standard batches, this may be too much for you. Small batches tend to get lost in the 6qt mixing bowl and you have to do more scraping with a spatula. Otherwise it's a wonderful machine.

  • Defective mixer

The above mixer did not work properly. There seemed to be only one speed (hi) and would stop after a few moments. I had to call Kitchen aid and they replaced it within a week. They also arranged for ups pickup of the original mixer.

The ratings are based on the replacement mixer.

  • Kitchen Aid 600

I love this machine! It can handle anything. I was afraid I wasn't going to like the crank up bowl (I thought I would prefer a tilting head model) but that certainly hasn't been a problem at all. I look for things to make in it on my days off, and my husband has even started making bread since we bought it.

  • I had wanted a professional mixer for a long while, and this one is a dream come true! I have made several things since receiving it, and the mixer is speedy, easy to use and easy to clean up afterward. Recipes I had put aside because of all the "creaming" instructions will be pulled out for sure--it's no longer an issue! I had shopped several locations and websites for the best price, and managed to find it here. I'm really looking forward to receiving my attachment from the promotion.

  • I was very much so, looking foward to this particular size model from Kitchen Aid. The power of the motor is right on the money, although I do notice slight overheating on the engine shell when dealing either with heavy batches or long periods of mixing. I guess I will have to wait and see how it turns out. Above all thank you for your deligence...

  • I bought this item for my fiancee who comes to visit from Canada every 3-4 weeks and spends a couple of weeks with me. She showed me how to make bread dough, slice vegatables, and grind foods with the Kitchenaid machine. I really enjoy my mixer and now make the best Belgan waffle mix and sweet bread dough in the world! I can't wait until I get my pasta attachment!

  • My wife and I have a older, less powerful unit and decided to up-grade. I grind alot of my own hamberger and ground meat to make home made sausage. The 600 makes the job easier. And of course for making bread dough to go along with the sausage, the 600 cant be beat.

  • I bought this mixer because my old one wasn't strong enough to knead whole grain breads. This one over-heated and shut-off for about 30 minutes the first time I tried it on bread.
I accidentally loaded the beater into the dishwasher and all the shiny color (fake stainless steel) came off. The instructions tell you not to wash it in the dishwasher. It's now a dull grey color. Oops.
