First of all the waffle iron is too light. You lift the lid and the whole thing raises up off the counter if you are not careful. The handle *(?) is made of plastic, it is easy to get burnt when lifting the lid to remove the waffle. The setting slide lever is a piece of plastic and it has about a quarter inch of play in it, so you really don't ever know what number you have it set on. I was wondering why the price was low and now I know. It seems Cuisinart is following most every other company and going for cheap made products and ignoring quality. Waffles are not that great as they come out mushy and even on the highest setting. I have to leave the waffle in there until you see a little smoke and it is done. That is how we used to tell when the waffle was done, before they came up with these progressive (?) tinker toys! If you want some quality skip this one. If you just want cheap, buy it.

Good but there are a few issues
I like that this product is small and not too big and bulky. When I made the first few waffles, they were perfect. Then when I went to make the next one, it stuck to the waffle iron. When I opened it to take out the waffle 1/2 was stuck to the top and the other half was stuck to the bottom. This happened a few more times. After that, I started to use PAM spray to coat the pan and haven't had an issue with the waffle sticking since. Also the waffles aren't as crisps as I'd like but that could be that I just have to play with the setting to find the right one for me.
For the price I paid, this is a good waffle iron once you work out the kinks.
Very nice product. Works well and is very easy to use. When I unpackaged it I was a little disappointed by the size as I had imagined it to be larger. However, it works perfect and size doesn't really matter =)
I looked all around my town for a waffle iron and believe it or not, nobody carries them (even you know who-Mart). So I went online to find one and (well you know the internet) I could find them everywhere!! I chose this one because it was exactly what I wanted. Alot of the other sites had waffle irons that swore they could do anything (except the dishes) and I wanted a simple way to make waffles (which I love). Cooking.com has alot of nice items. It's a good place to shop.
For the price this item can not be beat. Solidly constructed. Clean up is pretty easy, once you get the hang of not overfilling. The heat selector switch seems a bit loose, but does indeed work. The nonstick surface is really nonstic. Using heat 4 and bisquick based mix I forgot to pam the surface a few times and was still able to get the waffle. This is not the +1 foot waffle iron your mother had, I do not even think they exist anymore, but the waffles are as good as I remember. All in all probably one of my most celebrated online purchases around here.
I have never owned a waffle maker before so I wasn't sure what to expect. I have to say it was very easy to use although the batter can leak out at times. But being non-stick, clean up is still a breeze. I believe I got a good deal for the money - a basic, no-frills waffle maker that makes yummy waffles.
We were looking for a conventional waffle iron, after our old one wore out after many years. This is a simple, reliable, easy to clean iron, requiring very little space to store. The waffles are excellent and the cooking and cleaning so easy that we sometimes even make waffles on weekday mornings, before school and work.
Makes waffles in 3 mins. Be sure to brush surface with oil before each waffle to prevent sticking. Let it preheat at least 5 mins. before first use or the waffle will stick. The size is perfect. Make a large batch and place each one in a gallon size zip lock bag, throw in the freezer and then bake at 350 x 10 min. for great easy weeekday breakfasts.
I chose this product after reading some of the reviews online. I was interested in a very basic model that had some type of visual signal when the waffle was done. This part works very consistently.
My real disappointment was that the batter always has a tendency to run over the edge on every waffle I attempted. Most of the time, the batter would run over the front edge and into the recessed area behind the temperature control lever. Cleaning the mess took ten or fifteen minutes, about five times as long as cooking the waffle. I even thickened the mix but that didn't help matters too much. Having made waffles for nearly ten years, I couldn't imagine that my receipe had any great impact on the problem. (My previous waffle iron (made in the early 60's) never had this problem because it was constructed with a drip channel that diverted any excess batter into a different area). After the third and fourth day with similar results, I completely replaced the list of ingredients with a simple solution that eliminated the mess, and provided me with a reason to keep the iron. I simply put French toast on the wafflemaker and now I have breakfast.
I had never cooked a waffle in my life. I made almost perfect waffles the first time. My son recommended using cooking spray which was a good idea. The browning control and ready light are great features. It is a great tool for cooking challenged individuals such as myself. If I can master it, anyone can.
I have not had a waffle iron for a year or two and really missed it. I wanted one that cleaned well and wasn't huge to store. BINGO... this one is great... cooks them very well.... my 8 year old son had no problem using this. It cleans up and stores easily also. I love it.
