My first ceramic casserole. I did a Navarin of lamb ala Julia Child. Worked like a charm. Beautiful pot!

This one dish does it all, stovetop to oven to fridge, then to microwave to warm up leftovers the next day. I would definitely recommend and would buy again. It might seem a bit pricey but well worth the $. I will also add it is much lighter in wieght than some of the other french brands out there.

I must say it performs brilliantly. It holds many servings of soup and is a breeze to work with. I own Le Creuset and although it is a good product this is much lighter and the cleanup is ten times easier and quicker. I also love the oval shape which is deceivingly large but does not take up so much space on the cooktop. I leave mine out and it doesn't get in my way, even when I am not actively using it. If you enjoy making stews and soups, and I have done both with this, and you have not tried this brand then you owe it to yourself to get this casserole. It is well worth the price!

But I was concerned about the weight. This Emile Henry pot is significantly lighter than my 5-qt Le Creuset. It cooks well and the cleaning is easy. I would definitely recommend this pot to anyone who is looking for a good stew/soup pot. The only down side is that there is no life time guarantee like Le Creuset or AllClad offer.
