Our classic tea kettle rocketed to popularity when introduced over 25 years ago. The smooth, flat base creates maximum contact for rapid boiling, and the extra-large opening allows for easy cleaning and handling. Like all our standard-size tea kettles, our classic tea kettle boasts a functional capacity of 1.8 quarts. Chantal tea kettles are perfect for all stove types, including induction.

  • The handle heats up in almost the same measure as the kettle itself, requiring a hot pad to lift it when the water has come to a boil. The lid is difficult to remove and put back on. Otherwise a solid product, nonetheless a disappointment.

  • Very nice product

We have a stainless steel and black kitchen, so we were looking for a teakettle that had both colors in it. Also, we have owned a number of teakettles that are seamed at the bottom which always accumulates stains and particles over the years and it seems like that's where they always begin leaking. This teakettle does not have this type of construction which is why we ordered it. Being of a design with no seams, the teakettle keeps its like new appearance.

When we first brought it to boil we loved the harmonica type two note whistle sound. We use this teakettle every day to boil water for making coffee in our french press. This is a very good teakettle, we love the design and the contruction, the stainless steel parts and the shiney black exterior. This is a great teakettle and looks great on our black and stainless range which is where it sits even when not in use. We love it. Great product from Chantal.

    I recommend this product.

  • Whistles sometimes

I purchased this same model teakettle about 10 years ago and it worked beautifully. It was used multiple times daily until finally one day the disk on the spout just fell off. I purchased a replacement about a month ago and the whistle only worked occasionally. Cooking.com was very helpful and it was easy to get a replacement for the defective one I had received. The replacement performed the same way whistling sometimes. This time I called Chantal and the customer rep was also helpful and sent me a new disk (the whistle part). After replacing the disk the problem persists. At this point I'm tired of dealing with it. I'm going to keep this teakettle and keep looking for one I like better. I won't buy this brand again, which is too bad. We got great use out of the very first one.

  • This teapot is attractive and I like the look. I had anticipated a lower tone like a foghorn sound, but it is actually shrill and more high pitched than I expected.

  • Working Copper Kettle

This is the only copper kettle we could find that is made for using rather than decoration. It has a heavy aluminum base and stainless steel interior.
Commercial chefs don't use teakettles - maybe that's why copper ones are rare.... This is a beautiful addition to our copper pots. Well designed and sturdy with a lovely 2-tone whistle.

    I recommend this product.

  • Whistling Tea Kettle

I have had two teakettles like this and this is over many years. I searched for exactly the same kettle when I needed to replace it.

The quality is excellent - my first kettle lasted for many years. It has the best design of any kettles I have seen on the market and looks great just sitting on the stove. It is big enough to make a good pot of coffee but not so big that is it takes forever to boil.
I love the sound of the whistle. It is truly like a fog horn and I can hear it from any room in my house - it is not piercing and loud like most whistling kettles but it has a very non-irritating sound. It starts to whistle softly at a low boil and gradually gets louder.

This kettle is the best and I wouldn't think of buying any other style or brand.

    I recommend this product.

  • no whistle

Although the design of this tea kettle is aesthetically pleasing, it has a major design defect -- it does not whistle. I ordered one, had to send it back because of the whistle problem, and the replacement kettle still does not whistle properly, emitting only a low growl, not the high-pitched two-tone whistle advertised by Chantal.

  • Tops in tea kettles

This is the finest teakettle you could ask for. A fine glistening stainless finish looks great and when the water is boiling the harmonic note of the honer harmonica is a sweet call to tea versus the shrill, blood curdling squeal of the standard kettle

    I recommend this product.

  • Chantal Tea Kettle

I bought this because I really liked the first Chantal teapot I've had for about 15 years. The first blue one I bought from you did not whistle.

  • I already owned a white chantal tea pot and loved it. I re-did my kitchen and the copper matches better. The one thing that I don't like about it is that it does discolor even with a medium flame. I am very disappointed with that.

    I recommend this product.

  • Whistle on teapot is too loud, can sound scary to children. I used it on Thanksgiving, and the whistle almost sounded like a siren or that the ambulance was on the way.

I think the teapot is made well, but I wish it was bigger, like 2.5 quarts. That is my fault.

It is too expensive, $99.00 for a 1.8 qt. pot.

  • this was a gift to my daughter in Atlanta, Ga, she is in to the tea drinking and is enjoying the kettle very much, she says she loves the sound when water is ready, as to the price of the product, i believe value is there, but after researching, this could have been purchased about ten dollars cheaper, at least one of the same weight, but thanks for your service.
