Enjoy hands-free slicing and dicing and spend less time on food prep with the KitchenAid 16-c. Pro Line Food Processor. The large bowl has ample room for making pot sticker filling, coleslaw, grated cheese or pasta dough, and the tight seal ensures that nothing will spill out even when the bowl is filled to capacity. The separate 10-cup mixing bowl lets you prepare multiple steps of a recipe at the same time, and the 4-cup mini-bowl with its own S-blade makes fixing separate smaller batches of sauce, topping or pesto simple. Use the slicing disk to cut perfectly uniform pieces of cheese for sandwiches, or slide the external lever midslice to change the thickness of the cut without having to switch blades. The food processor also comes with a shredder blade, S-blade and dough blade to let you do everything from dice tomatoes for salsa to shred carrots for carrot cake. The multifunctional feed tube lets you put items into the processor vertically or horizontally while the device is operating. A comfortable soft-grip handle makes the bowl easy to hold and maneuver, so you can transfer chopped ingredients to your cooking area efficiently. Features:
  • Large capacity bowl for big chopping jobs
  • Multiple bowls let you shred, chop or dice multiple foods without cleaning the original bowl first
  • Multiple blades for added versatility
  • Large feed tube reduces the need to cut foods into small pieces before inserting them into the processor
  • External lever lets you change slice size without opening the processor
  • Capacity: 16-c.
  • Cleaning & Care: Hand Wash Only
  • Height: 18-in.

  • Complicated Food Processor

The 16-cup Frosted Pearl Food Processor by KitchenAid took something that for me has been a very simple kitchen tool and turned it into a complicated, time-consuming pain in the fingers. It took me over a half hour to figure out how to properly attach the bowl and top pieces so that I could get the thing to run at all. The shredding disc seems OK, a little slow and choppy compared to Cuisinart, the brand I have used since the early 1980s. The graduated slicing is interesting, but it tends to stick and not slice as expected. I have not dared to try the slice and dice option yet--who knows what will happen. My biggest regret is selling my trusted 14-cup Cuisinart, which cost less than a third of what this model costs, before I tried out this machine more thoroughly. I used to use any excuse possible to use my food processor. Now I go out of my way NOT to use it.
