I use these as spice grinders, and they are PERFECT!!! They work like a champ, never bind when using coffee, nuts, or spices, and are a cinch to clean. I usually use a burr grinder for coffee, but use this for making coffee or espresso dry rubs/marinades. If you need a spice grinder, or a good coffee grinder, this is your baby!
Great looking grinder, and does a good job of grinding coffee or spices. However, it makes a mess when you use it. It needs to be sealed better at the top. When you remove the top to pour the coffee, a bunch of it ends up on the counter. I don't use this on an everyday basis, so it's not a huge problem, but a serious coffee drinker might get tired of wiping up after a while.
This is a better product compared to Black-and-decker and cuisine art, because the base is seperate from the grinder and has more flexibility. It is easy to use and the grinder can be washed and used to grind spices, nuts, and blend small quantity of fruits etc for the toddlers..
Since it didn't come with any instructions,I'm still experimenting. So far it's a great grinder.Easy to use and clean.Much better coffee than that store bought ground stuff.Btw,the national coffee chain(yes the big one) Baristas know very little about bean coffee,They only know how to use machines.
This is a very well made product. Good materials and solid construction. But I am disappointed in the grinding results. It's difficult to get a fine, powdery grind. I prefer fine for drip. I have to run it a long time (aprox 1.5 min.) and shake it quite bit. The shaking also causes grounds to get into the coupling mechanism requiring cleanup after each use. ALso, it doesn't grind well with small loads such as one or two scoops of beans. However, for larger loads, and grinding for a French Press, for instance, it works quite well. I also like the removable stainless steel grinding bowl. Depending on your needs, this may be a great choice, or a disappointment.
my intention for this grinder was to grind aindian spices and occasionally make small chutney batches. This grinder does not Di the job. The spices fly out around the top and into the grinder itself which creates a huge mess . It also does not do the job of grinding cumin and coriander seeds. It could not even begin to grind a dried red pepper in some vinegar. Do not buy.
