Take toasting to the next level with the KitchenAid 4-Slice Pro Line Toaster, and never burn your bread again. We love the automatic lift and lower function that senses when bread or bagels have been placed in any of the slots, lowers the slices into the machine, and then perfectly toasts to the preselected shade. Each slot is calibrated to center the food, enabling even toasting on both sides. Choose from seven different toasting levels so you always end up with perfectly toasted bread. Use the simple buttons on the front of the toaster to indicate whether you're cooking bagels, a frozen item or a food that may need to toast a bit longer. And take advantage of the auto keep-warm function, which detects when bread hasn't been removed within 45 seconds and lowers slices again to keep them warm until you're ready to eat. From sleek and sophisticated design to well thought out features, this KitchenAid toaster is a great addition to any kitchen. Best Used For: Enjoy toasted rye, wheat or white bread in the morning with your eggs, or opt for a toasted bagel with schmear instead. When you're in a rush, heat up a frozen breakfast pastry for a sweet treat on your way to the office. Features:
  • Four-slice toaster allows multiple items to toast simultaneously
  • Self-centering racks ensure even toasting on both sides
  • Automatic lift and lower function senses when toast is placed in racks and lowers to cook to desired shade
  • Auto keep-warm allows toast to stay toasty until you're ready to eat
  • Height: 9-in.
  • Model No.: KMT4203OB
  • Number of Slices: 4-slice
  • Origin: China
  • Warranty: 5 Year Warranty
  • Width: 12.7-in.

  • First of all, NO ONE needs a toaster like this! That said, we love this appliance anyways - a somewhat senseless extravagence that adds to the overall feel of what we are trying to do with our kitchen (pro-style it). The assortment of colors was alos a big plus, allowing us to match the red knobs of our Wolf 30" range.

This is the second toaster we had shipped to us. The first was defective - the bell on the right side did not work. The warning chimes are important, because the toast doesn't pop up when it's done. Fortunately, the chime is loud enough to be practical, but I suggest giving this unit a good "test run" to be sure all the literal bells and figurative whistles work properly.

This is all about style, so I won't go into how much better our toast tastes (it tastes the same, frankly). But it is fun to look at and certainly built as sturdy as it looks.

One little quirk - if you toast using both isdes, and set the timer (doneness knob) to different settings, you do NOT get two different warning chimes. The side that finishes first will chime, then the side finishing second will not. I'm not certain if this is a design deficiency or a manufacturing defect, and plan to call Kitchen Aid about this. Each chime (left or right) works when the corresponding side is used independantly, however.

Haven't tried anything other than white bread, so I can't comment on bagels, english muffins, etc.

    I recommend this product.

  • I have been searching for a very good toaster. I thought this was it. Unfortunately, when the toast is ready one side is always more done than the other just like my old Cusinart toaster. Why is it so hard to get the toast done evenly?

  • This is a Tim Allen

We have bought several toasters over the years from the local Wallyworld, only to have them last a few years.

This toaster is built to last. It is solid metal (no cheap plastic parts or cover). It toasts evenly and quickly. By design, it took awhile to get accustomed to the features. The toast has to be manually raised and lowered, it does not pop up when done. This feature is designed to keep your toast (or Eggo) warm if you aren't nearby. The heating element shuts off and an audible beeper goes off, but the toast stays in to keep warm.

The only negative point I have (and this is not actually a bad thing) is the weight. It weighs almost 15 pounds and is a heavyweight dragging out of the cabinet. My wife wont' allow applianced to sit on the cabinet, so we lug this thing in and out to use it. Not a problem for the young at heart, but not a good gift for your 90 year-old granny.

Kitchen Aid has never disappointed us. We are considering replacing many of our older countertop appliances with new Kitchen Aid models because of their quality.

Do you really need a $150.00 toaster, probably not. But it will be the last toaster you will probably ever buy in your lifetime!

    I recommend this product.

  • Solid Toaster, Solid Value

This toaster is built solid and the performance is top-notch. We like the separate controls for each set of two slots. There is no worry of burining yourself either. The outside always feels cool to the touch. There are some nifty attachments that you can buy separately as well. We didn't mind paying a little extra for this toaster because it's obvious that it'll still be around twenty-five years from now.

    I recommend this product.
