This waffle iron makes restaurant quality waffles at home with complete ease! After baking for only a few minutes, two large waffles are ready to serve and enjoy. The unit is rather large and heavy, but it heats up quickly and bakes the waffles to golden perfection every time without fail. Clean-up is a snap - just let the unit cool down and wipe the plates with a damp towel.
Each round waffle is baked in a way that the whole waffle can easily be split into quarters without having to cut it. Good for sharing or when serving smaller serving sizes are important.
To ensure a nice crispy waffle, make sure you put the baked waffles on a cooling rack before serving in order to allow the moisture that is generated from the baking process to evaporate. Otherwise, the moisture gets trapped under the waffle on the plate and it loses it's crispness.
I have had other smaller, more inexpensive units over the years that never seemed to do a good enough job and eventually failed. How many of those cheaper models have we all bought? Yes, this is somewhat expensive, but I feel you get what you pay for. Kitchen Aid has never let me down before. They stand behind their products and their customer service has always been top-notch. You won't be sorry!
I tried a similar type of waffle maker in a hotel about a year ago. I've been looking for one ever since. I found an even better one...you can't go wrong with KichenAid. We are a family of 6 and take full advantage of the 2 sided feature.
Ever since we've received our waffle maker (end of August), we've eaten waffles about 3 times a week. I know, waffle crazy! It cooks evenly and makes most of the waffles crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. I've used several recipes even making up my own along the way.
I am very pleased that this website delivers to FPO/APO. My husband and I live in Okinawa, Japan, and it is so difficult to get good stuff delivered to our address. I will be ordering more products from this website.
I didn't realize that this waffle iron was a double and it has two sides to make two waffles at the same time. Very well constructed and easy to use.

None of them turned out a waffle like the restaurants. The kitchenAid is the best by far that i have purchased and use. Easy to use, and the waffles are great no matter what mix i use. I have King Arthur, Bisquick, and some we made up on our own. First thought it was pricey, but the proof is how it works.

Being able to make two big fluffy Belgian waffles at once is such a treat. The waffle maker is rather large so we keep it on our counter top. But it is a handsome machine to look at. Absolutely no butter or oil is needed to coat this machine and waffles just pop out cleanly every time. That alone makes clean up a snap. I really gagged at the price and was prepared to return it if it was not flawless, but I am still making and enjoying the best waffles ever!

We've had good experience with our other KitchenAid purchases and this seems as well designed and well made as their other products.

The product arrived in a timely matter. It was well packed and in pristine condition! This is a nice, heavy-duty product. I have had waffle irons in the past that did not hold up. I expect to have this product for many years to come. It is heavy--25 pounds--so you are not going to want to carry it from one place to another every time you use it. It is so pretty though, you will want to leave it right on the counter top! It makes two HUGE waffles at a time. Make sure you rotate the unit to coat both surfaces of the plate.
The product guide is well written and has a lot of great recipes, tips, and general information--make sure you read it!! For instance--I never knew why I had such a miserable time getting the waffles out of my former waffle iron--I was using cooking spray ON the waffle iron and not enough oil IN the waffle batter. No stuck waffles now!!
We can hardly wait until our blueberries are ripe so we can make my famous blueberry waffles!
This is a great product and I highly recommend it. It would be a nice addition to a family kitchen--freeze any extra waffles and pop them into the toaster to warm them up.
I truly love this product. It is easy to use, easy to clean and a true time saver!

Great product!!!!!!!!! I love that I can make two waffles at once I can entertain without trying to keep the first waffle hot. Heavy duty just like the waffle irons I use at the breakfast places I have cooked at. The only flaw is that they put a teflon coating or non-stick coating. If that should become scratched then the machine is useless. They should have used raw cast iron and pre-seasoned. Once properly seasoned you will never have a sticking problem. That is the only minor draw back. I would buy it again. I loved this cooking tool. Great product! Great thinking putting two waffle irons in one.
Sincerely,
Chris M. Sandowski
I love this product! It's very well constructed and compares in quality to the commercial ones I have used at hotels. I have had waffle makers in the past and nothing compares. It makes perfect waffles every time and the fact that it makes two at a time is a real plus when you have guests! It's pricey but I find it worth it if you love waffles!

The price was a little high, but we are so pleased with the item that we would recommend it to anyone who likes waffles. It makes two perfect waffles in under 3 minutes and is a great item.

Yes | No Report Violation »This is without doubt the best waffle maker that I have ever purchased and it replaces two waffle makers that I used simultaneously to allow a fresh waffle to be ready at the same time for me and for my wife. Now, I wish that I had simply purchased this machine right from the beginning, which would have saved me money and the trouble with having to use two machines at once. I like my waffles extra-crisp and this machine makes two Belgium waffles in 5.5 minutes, which is the maximum setting. I use a difficult-to-brown whole grain pancake waffle mix and I suspect that using one of the recipes in the accompanying cook book (or perhaps using a regular pancake mix) might give good results with a lower time. One feature that is especially nice is that the display changes to from green to red at the end of the cycle, so you know how much over-time your waffles are should you miss the end of cycle alarm..

This is commercial rated. Compared to less expensive units this is still worth the price - especially if you get it on sale. I recommend making batches of these waffles and freezing them for later use. This will make the effort of taking out the heavy unit more logical. The waffles are thicker and afford adding frozen blueberries, etc.
My thanks to the other reviewers who confidently recommended this unit. I window shopped for Calphalon, Breville, and other high end waffle makers. None of those had the heavy duty construction of this unit. Well worth the investment.
A bit pricey but a fantastic way to make waffles, only used it once. So easy and clean-up was just wipe with a damp rag. I already had a waffle maker from Villaware which never made a single waffle (not that I did not try a dozen times, not cooked enough after 6/7 mins etc.) cost around $80- and absolutely sucked....Should have returned it !!!
10 of 11 users found this helpful. Was it helpful to you? Yes | No Report Violation »This waffe iron is expensive, but I have thrown away as much money on junky waffle irons looking for a good one. The waffles were golden, done on both sides, cooked in 4-5 minutes (not 11 like my old Villa Ware where I had to turn them over to cook both sides), were crisp and beautiful. At last someone has made a Belgian waffle iron worth owning.

It is of exceptional quality and very substantially built -- it is very heavy, but that keeps it steady and exactly where you put it. It is very easy to clean; we use a firm-bristled brush to whisk away any crumbs and a soft sponge to clean the outside. Nothing sticks to the non-stick plates. It makes two waffles at a time, so my husband and I can eat together. And, most importantly, it makes perfect waffles every time! We use Krusteaz Belgian Waffle mix, but may try some from-scratch recipes as well. This is expensive as waffle bakers go, but it is worth the price in our opinion, and is definitely built to last. We recommend this highly!
9 of 11 users found this helpful. Was it helpful to you? Yes | No Report Violation »this waffle iron makes the best waffles, they are never soggy, and to be able to make two at a time, we can both eat together with hot food.
9 of 11 users found this helpful. Was it helpful to you? Yes | No Report Violation »This waffle iron comes with a heafty price tag but it is worth every penny. The ability of being able to make 2 restaurant quality waffles at the same is outstanding. No more trying to figure out how to keep the waffles warm or eating in shifts. The only drawback is that it takes up a lot of room on the counter so I found that I have to put it away after each use. The iron itself is easy to use and clean up is a breeze. I would recommend this to anyone that enjoys a good quality waffle. This will produce the perfect waffle everytime.
