Great Waffles, easy to use & easy to clean

by David, OH
January 3, 2010

Iron makes perfect waffles and the non-stick surface works great.
The only draw back would be it's kind of expensive. It seems to be made well so, I expect it to last a long time and be worth the price.

Sublime...

A foolishly expensive waffle maker, to be sure...but it is hard to argue with PERFECT waffles.

Works wonderfully, makes any cook look like a hero, and even cleans easily.

What's not to like?

GREAT WAFFLE MAKER

by GEORGIA, KY
November 20, 2007

This waffle maker is everything I expected and more. I have been making waffles on a small unit for years. My family enjoys waffles much more than pancakes. I like to experiment with different flavors, I made some pumpkin waffles last week and they were great. Banana/nut waffles are a favorite of my husbands. The waffles are quite large, fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside. The unit is large and heavy, if you make waffles often and you have the space you probably will want to just leave it out. It is an attractive appliance. Cleanup is easy. The unit is pricey but if you like waffles, I would reommend it.

Texas Size Waffles!!!

by Jeanine, TX
February 19, 2008

I love my new KitchenAid Waffle Iron! This is the easiest waffle maker I've ever seen. Simply wait for the iron to heat, which doesn't take long at all, add a cup of mix, close, rotate, start the timer and you're done! The waffle maker tells you when the waffles are cooked, and they come out hugh and delicious. Well worth the money.

Best Waffle Iron

by Corynne, CO

I love this waffle iron! I can sit down with my husband and have breakfast instead of one of us having to wait while the second waffle is baking. It's really a time saver. Wish I had this when I was raising 4 children.

Gift was appreciated

by Elizabeth, OR
January 2, 2010

My husband and I bought this as a gift. After looking at reviews of waffle irons, this seemed to have the best reviews and the added bonus of making two waffles at once which would speed the preparation time. I have heard that they are really enjoying it and that it makes great waffles. It is pricier than some other options but also seems to be of much higher quality. I was too leary to buy some of the other waffle irons that have had well documented problems with their power supply.

While on vacation, the Hotel we stayed at had a continental breakfast and they had this Waffle Iron. So made some waffles. Because it was so easy to make and taste was great and easy to clean, I purchased it. Would recommed it to anyone who likes an easy breakfast or has waffles for other meals.

Love it!!

Even with the pricey price -- LOVE this waffle iron! The first week I had it, we had waffles for dinner almost every night for a week, trying out recipes we thought our kids and the grandkids would like. (Please don't tell my Weight Watcher people!!)
At our first big waffle meal for the family, 2 big waffles at a time really helped feed everyone faster! (I made a few before we sat down and just put them on the oven racks on warm to stay crisp so everyone could at least start together.)
The oldest to the youngest raved about the waffles.

We've had it for just over two weeks and it makes awesome waffles. The iron is sturdy and easy to use and clean up. The accompanying recipes are pretty good too. To summarize, we're very happy with our waffle iron!

Excellent Double Waffle Iron

by Lynette, WI
March 2, 2010

This waffle iron makes deep Belgian waffles, and assures that the waffle fills the holes completely due to the "flip" design that makes two waffles at the same time. Each waffle is pretty large, so you may find that it makes fewer waffles than a recipe might imply, but they are larger. It cooks evenly, and you can determine the length of time you like for the desired crispiness, and then set the timer for that desired time. The waffles just pop out of the non-stick surface.

This is an excellent waffle iron - a little larger and heavier than some, but easy enough to store in a cabinet and pull out when needed.

perfect waffles

by kendall, CA

If you're looking for perfect waffles, this will do it. The Waring is faster (makes two waffles one at a time than faster than Kitchen aid making two at a time), but at 4-5 mins for two waffles and they come out perfect, the Kitchen aid is great. I got it at a great price too, $159.

Marvelous!

by Flash, NC

The best thing since sliced bread. Instructions say to discard first batch but second one has a slight off taste to it. Also takes 3-4 uses to remove small new appliance smell. I've made pecan, blueberry & even used cherries for waffles. It's very consistent time after time.

Brunch at Home

by Christina, IL

This KitchenAid waffle iron delivers 2 restaurant quality waffles in less than five minutes. One warning-this waffle iron is large and heavy. Waffles do not stick and clean-up is easy. I recommend the yeasted waffles recipe from Cooks Illustrated.

KitchenAid Proline Waffle maker

by ROBERT, NY
November 19, 2008

If you love Belgian waffles, this is the waffle maker to get! I've gone through 3 waffle makers in the past 2 years, one of them being the Waring Pro. None of the waffle makers would last past 5-6 uses before they would no longer heat up. As soon as you open the box on this KitchenAid you can tell there's no comparison to those other units. I've only used it twice so far but this one looks like it will stand the test of time.

Kitchenaid Waffle iron review

by Elizabeth, TX
January 1, 2009

I have had this particular waffleiron for over two years and would not trade it for any other waffle iron. Because I really like mine, I ordered one for my daughter and one for my daughter-in-law. It is well worth the money.

Great Waffles, But a Few Drawbacks

by Christine, TX
December 1, 2009

I have had this waffle iron for a couple of weeks and have used it 3 times. The first time, as the instruction manual warns, the waffles stuck. I added a little more oil to the batter, and the next waffles came out (with a little help). The second time, it worked great - everyone thought the waffles were terrific! Over Thanksgiving, when I had company, I decided to make waffles for breakfast...the waffles stuck again, so once again I added a little more oil to the batter. What I am learning is that a standard waffle recipe does not have enough oil---at least the two I have used apparently don't. Now I have made a note in my cookbook to up the amount of oil in the recipe.

The other thing about this waffle iron is that there is no heat adjustment, and I find there is a fine line between not done enough to remove from the waffle iron and a little overdone.

All of that being said, once you get the hang of it, the waffles that come out of this machine are crispy outside and soft inside. They look like the Belgian waffles you get in a restaurant! Love the timer feature, and it's nice to be able to make two at a time.

The size and thickness of the waffles make one waffle enough for each person. It's easy to use and seems to be very well made. I am fortunate to have plenty of cabinet space, so the large size of the unit is not an issue for me.

Having been through several inexpensive waffle irons, even with the drawbacks I have mentioned above, I would still spend the money to buy this again; my family loves waffles, and this does make great waffles.

Best waffle iron

by Sharon, CA
December 28, 2010

I have owned a few waffle irons, but nothing comes close to comparing with this product. I have never eaten so many waffles in my life! My entire family absolutely loves this waffle iron. My husband, as well as both of my sons, have enjoyed this product so much. They have waffles for snacks, dinner, lunch and of course breakfast.

This product is extremely easy to use. I set my timer for 3:30 minutes and I have a perfect belgian waffle everytime.

I would recommend every household to own one of these!

Great waffle iron

by Peter, NC
August 27, 2007

A great product, but on the expensive side. I would not buy it at the list price of $300. I paid $200, but think $150 is a fairer price. I waited 2 years to get it at the price I paid. But it's a great waffle iron. Very easy to use, waffles don't stick, and you can make 2 at a time, which is great when you have a hungry crowd to feed.

Our whole family is pleased with this product. Everyone can make a waffle to their liking using the timer. There is no mess with this one either. However, I thinned the batter down just a tad..but that could be becasuse we like our waffles a llittle on the lighter/crispy side. The unit works GREAT!!
I would recommend this waffle maker to anyone who enjoys making waffles.
My daughter in-law has a waffle maker that does not have all the features this waffle maker has. Shhh....I'm getting her one for Christimas.
