This bowl looks so pretty and sturdy on TV, but in actuality is quite the opposite. I was so excited when I ordered it, but was quite disappointed when I took it out of the box. I woudn't recommend to anyone. Way too expensive for the quality of the merchandise. It's a shame.
I thought it was a little overpriced for a plastic bowl.
When I ordered this bowl, I thought it was the size I have seen on the cooking show by Rachel Ray - which is why I ordered it. It is quite a bit smaller, necessitating emptying it a great many more times while preparing the meal - otherwise it overflows onto the counter.

Very happy with this product and glad to see it finally on sale. It's much bigger than I expected which is great. I keep it on my counter and not only throw in my chopped vegetable waste, but it's big enough to throw in everything else too, like egg shells, packaging materials and even cans. Then I just dump the whole thing in the trash at once instead of opening my trash cabinet every two minutes and wipe out the bowl - what a time saver. I've even used it for potting soil when planting my windowsill seeds. I'd never dream of putting dirt in a bowl we eat out of. Love it. Turtlewife
My mother had one of these bowls back in the 60's but back then it was not called garbage bowl. Hers was a bit wider at the bottom. She used hers to let her home made bread rise. I probably will as well plus use for making cookies. Just an all around bowl
I purchased 3 garbage bowls last year: 1 for me; 2 for my sisters Christmas. We all like our bowls. I ordered this bowl for me because my original bowl cracked (probably my fault). I wanted a 2nd one of a different color: 1 for meat scraps, 1 for vegetable scraps to drop in my garden. I like to be organized.
Love my garbage bowl, this is the second one I have purchased thru Rachel Ray. I don't necessary use them as garbage bowls I have them because they remind me of the bowls my grandmother had when I was little girl growing up. They are sturdy and practical for many purposes, not use a "garbage bowl".
Everyone who watches me cook, and there have been many, comment on "my bowl." I share, "This is not just any bowl; this is my 'thank you for coming' bowl." We must acknowledge that all parts of our food are important for whatever reason, and this bowl is the perfect showcase for such recognition. I have given this bowl as a gift to people all over the U.S. from Minnesota to Texas, and they all share that they cannot cook without this bowl by their side. This particular bowl is going to a friend who is having some health problems and will ensure fewer trips to the trash receptacle or garbage disposal for him. The garbage bowl is a utilitarian, as well as decorative, addition to any kitchen. The colors are beautiful, and I am tempted to buy one of each. However, it is even more satisfying to present them as gifts to those who will love them as much as I do.
