The KitchenAid® Pasta Press Attachment is a self-feeding, multiplate pasta-making accessory that can make six different shapes of pasta in any length. The attachment mounts easily on your KitchenAid stand mixer hub and has six removable plates which can be swapped in and out to make spaghetti, fusilli, bucatini, rigatoni, as well as both small and large macaroni. Simply insert a ball of your favorite pasta dough into the feeder and watch your pasta flow out to the desired length, and cut with the attached wire slicer. Homemade pasta is easy and fun to make, plus it won’t get clumpy, cook unevenly and tastes much fresher than boxed versions. Fresh noodles are a great addition to all sorts of recipes, from macaroni and cheese and pasta salad to Italian classics like spaghetti and meatballs or baked rigatoni. When you’re done, it’s easy to air dry and brush out excess flour and pasta with the included cleaning brush. The KitchenAid Pasta Press Attachment fits all KitchenAid stand mixers and comes with a storage case to help keep track of the six interchangeable pasta plates.

pasta extruder attachment
I have used each die and after a little adjustment with flour it works well. Pasta dough needs to be a lot dryer than I am used to. I have made several different flavoured pastas and all came out well. The only con is cleaning the dies. I had to soak them for approx 5 days and use a toothbrush many times to get the dough out of the tiny crevices.
to make yummy fresh pasta. My daughter and I took the press right out of the box and set it up after making a batch of our own pasta. I made the large macaroni/rigatoni and served it with a wonderful vegan alfredo sauce. It's a fun activity to do with my teen. Cleaning requires having the pasta dry on the plates in order to brush them out just as a note. Other than that, I love it and may look at other attachments now.
NOTHING IN THE DRY/FROZEN LINE IS AS GOOD AS FRESHLY MADE PASTA. IN THE PAST I TRIED TWO OF THE BULKY PASTA MAKERS--WORKED OK, BUT THE CLEAN UP FROM ONE USE WAS DAUNTING. THIS ATTACHMENT TO MY MIXWE HOOMS UP EASILY, ALLOWS FOR SMALL AMOUNTS TO BE MADE AND HAS PRETTY EASY USE AND CLEANUP. AND THE PASTA IS GOOD.
