Not just for pasta!

My husband and I experimented with the pasta roller and used it to roll out pizza dough for an ultimate thin crust. It worked out perfectly and will become our rolling option.

Love homemade pasta

by deanna, WA

The KitchenAid Pasta Roller is heavy duty, easy to use and extends the many tasks my KitchenAid mixer can perform. When I made a large batch of pasta, I cut some wide, some narrow, and some flat sheets from the dough. I also added herbs to part of the dough and freeze the whole batch. When I'm making a pasta dish, it's as close as my freezer. It freezes so well, I can't tell the difference between the frozen and the fresh. I also have used the roller to roll out cracker dough.

Pasta dinners will never be the same in our house. This is quickly becoming one of my top kitchen tools!

Ever since I bought my stand mixer, I've had so much fun trying out the various accessories that come with it. The pasta roller is no exception! It's easy to attach and use.. I especially love making fresh fettuccine. Fresh pasta really can't be beat!!

I also bought this for my wife. She used one in a culinary arts class she took and wanted to use it to make fresh pasta. While she hasn't used it yet, she is very happy to have it.

I bought this for my husband for Christmas and he really likes it. I also bought the pasta cutter to go with this. He made whole wheat pasta and it came out great!

Disappointed

by Elaine, AZ

Mine broke and I am sending it back after one day. Very cheaply made. Surprising as KitchenAid is usually a great product.

We used our roller for the first time last night and it was very easy to use & the egg noodle recipe in the book was delish! I highly recommend purchasing a cutter/extruder as well, otherwise you will all shapes/sizes of noodles.

pasta roller

The one thing i did not like about this item, was the dial for the thickness of the pasta. It was way different from the first one i had. Which by the way the shaft snapped. I love to make my own pasta and will have to play with the settings.

Keep roller absolutely clean

by Rhona, NY
May 7, 2012

This comes with a cleaning brush, The roller works great as long as the dough you put in is NOT sticky. This KA roller attachment is preferred over the stand alone motorized Italian pasta rollers/maker by well known cake decorator, Nicholas Lodge in his school in GA to roll out gumpaste to different thicknesses. The consistency of gumpaste cannot be too moist and must be adequately cornstarched/Crisco'ed so it will run through roller smoothly. Otherwise, it rolls out all messed up and it splits the gumpaste into 2 layers with honeycombing between. When using, must make sure the metal rollers are absolutely clean and smooth-- without even a thin film of dough or gumpaste residue on it. I rate this a 4 out of 5 coz roller cannot be dismantled to be soap cleaned under the faucet. The cleaning instructions of just using the brush are scant and not practical. I suggest placing a damp cloth UNDERNEATH (not from the top) to clean the rollers while moving.

Great for fondant/gumpaste!

by Demeris, KY
April 16, 2013

To all the cake decorators out there. If you don't have this attachment for your Kitchenaid, you MUST get it. It is simply the best for rolling fondant or gumpaste paper thin. Finally, my arms get a rest from the rolling pin! Don't think I could ever be without it now.
