This works with my 5 qt. professional style of stand mixer, but really doesn't fit the new Artisan Mixer with the glass bowl. They need to make one of these that is designed for the new glass 5 qt. mixing bowl.

I have had a kitchen aid for many years, two infact. Neither of them came with a pouring shield. When making bread and other things flour oats etc would end up all over the counter top. The shield has greatly reduced the mess so is much appreciated. I felt it was a little pricey for just a piece of plastic but checked several web site and this one was as good as any. I'm happy to have it.

No More Flour on the Walls!!

In my house I'm the cook and my husband is the baker. I'm also the neat one while he's the splatter king.I found myself cleaning up a lot less after I purchased him the pouring shield to go with his new Kitchen Aid mixer.I usually find batter and flour on the walls after he's done baking but not anymore! Now I can just enjoy his fabulous cookies and not worry about the mess! This is must have for anyone who loves to bake or is married to a closet baker.

Fits perfectly on my Kitchen-Aid Stand Mixer

When I purchased my mixer it did NOT come with the pour shield. Having never used the mixer I didn't realize how much I would WISH I had one of these. I've had my mixer way too long for not having purchased this shield sooner. It is great for keeping everything pretty much INSIDE the bowl without the ingredients coming out. It's worth it to have one of these shields even at the price...the benefits outweigh the cost "all the way".

I bought this product as a gift for my daughter for Christmas. I have had one for many years. It helps keep the flour from getting all over the counter when I am adding it to the mixer and as the mixer starts up. The shoot on it helps direct other ingredients into the beater.

Solving Kitchenaides' Biggest Problem

The 5 qt. pouring shield is intended to correct the eternal problem with Kitchenaides. Every time the user adds ingredients, the ingredients slop over the edge of the bowl. Plus, due to the overhead mixer design, and the moving paddles, mixing ingredients gradually is an adventure all its own. No matter how slowly I try to pulse the mixer, or how slowly I add the ingredients as the mixer mixes, everything still goes everywhere. Unfortunately, the shield doesn't really fit the top of the mixing bowl very well. The pouring spout is mostly helpful. However, a simple design along the lines of the Cone of Shame from the movie "UP" that actually fit on the top of the bowl would do the job more effectively.

KitchenAid pour shield

The shield is good for adding ingredients and helping to prevent splatter. However, I wish it would lightly clamp to the bowl. It tended to get knocked off the bowl in the middle of adding something.

Love it! Decided to purchase after using my daughter-in-law's. It sure makes adding dry ingredients easier, especially powdered sugar. Nice also for liquids. Thanks!

Good Product!!

Good for bakers.

I thought I NEEDED this item. I was convinced that this shield would make a difference in how or maybe how much I used my machine. It was going to save me all kinds of messes. I put it on my bowl one time. It has been in the cabinet since. KitchenAid design doesn't allow for easy pour into the bowl. The shield does give you a little help with that but I found myself taking it off and on the one time I used it. I couldn't see into the bowl as well, I couldn't scrape the bowl and push down the mixes, etc. Not a bad product, I suppose. Just why??? :)

The amazing Shield

Went through Christmas 2009 without the shield and things were very messy. We had to be so careful about putting the ingredients in the mixer so not to get them back splashing at us. Now everything goes in and No Worries! Thank You KitchenAid. Best idea ever

I was so glad to find this on FNS. This should greatly facilitate pouring ingredients into my mixer bowl.

Finally got one!

I have had my Kitchenaid mixer for about 10 years.I bake often and have put off purchasing the 'shield' for so long. I haven't used the 'shield' yet but, I am certain it was well worth the cost and will prove invaluable. I'm just happy I have one now.

I hadn't been able to use my mixer untill I got this because it threw whatever was in the bowl everywhere. It should have been included with mixer in the beginning.
