Book very nice; "Bookplate," not so much

While the book is chock full of interesting recipes and narrative, I was a bit disappointed by the promised signed "bookplate," which turned out to be nothing more than a peel-off sticker with Alex's signature on it. This wins the "cheesy" award for April.

Old School Comfort Food

Alex is my favorite new Iron Chef. I love her notes and comments in this book. I just received it, so have not tried any of the recipes yet, but have enjoyed thumbing through the pages and soaking up her experience.

I like the bio included with the recipes as it reminds me of how I grew up in a lot of ways. I am going to try quite a few of these recipes and know that I will enjoy them as I am always looking for new ideas.

Love the recipes and stories!

I love the "cookbook". I plan to try several of the recipes. I really enjoyed Chef Guarnaschelli's family stories and her sharing with us her journey to becoming a world renowned chef. We have totally different backgrounds. But, I can relate to her wonderful memories of learning to cook with her mother. I am a true daughter of the south and learned to cook watching my mother and grandmother. I would recommend Old-School Comfort Food for anyone who would like to relive their own family cooking experiences
