Ease of use

This product is easy to use and takes the guesswork out of cooking meat to the temperature desired. The display panel is large enough to see across a kitchen, if necessary. We are very satisfied with the product, and also how quickly it was delivered.

This item was purchased as a gift for my 26 yr old son . I was looking for something like the one I have from Pampered Chef (they no longer carry them) as he always borrowed mine. I found this after 20 min of looking and must say he is completely thrilled. In fact his friends have called me to get your info so they can order. Thank you very much for helping me to fulfill this special gift for someone very hard to buy for.

Didn't work at all!

I followed all directions on this thermometer, and the first and only time I used it, it failed completely.

I put it in raw meat and put it in the oven. Within 3 minutes, it was beeping that it had reached 160 degrees. It was fully centered in the meat and there was no way that it could have reached that temp.

Why did I wait so long

I love my digital probe thermometer. I have been cooking for over 25 years and cannot believe I waited this long to invest the money into this hi tech gadget!! It is the best when it comes to the perfectly done rare roast beef. Takes the guess work out of roasting meat! I highly recommend this to any cook.

We never received any directions as to how to use this product. The factory said they were supposed to be with the product, that they did not have them available. Would you please send them to us? Joe Kraft

Excellent product with expected breakages

Overall this is a great product that keeps very accurate temperature and works great in the oven. Be aware that the cord is delicate and does stop working if it overheats. It is not the unit that is broken, but the prode. You can buy replacement probes. Do not put in the dishwasher!

If you only want to use it once...

I used the the Polder Thermometer once a few days before Thanksgiving (I'd purchased it for use on Thanksgiving) and that was the one and only time it worked. After that, every time you turned it on the thermometer would beep showing that the indicated meat was done, even though you hadn’t used it yet.

This product used to be sold by Pampered Chef. They quit carrying it and I don't know why. It is a good digital thermometer. I mainly use it for making fudge. I have also used it for cooking a roast in the oven. The thermometer remains in the roast, the oven door will close and the temperature is registered on the counter - complete with an alarm when done. Great product. Lots more expensive on Ebay.

Easy and Reliable

I was a little nervous about this because I've never used a digital probe thermometer before, but I was making a pork roast for a dinner party and needed an accurate temperature. This is brilliant! It was very easy to use, easy to adjust the preset temperatures and totally reliable. My roast was beautiful. I gave my dad the leftovers and he's still raving about it...just because it wasn't overcooked. Oh, also, this has an off switch. All the others I saw wanted you to take the batteries out when not in use. Ridiculous.

easy to use

if you are a cook like me that is doing ten things at once- then this is the thermometer for you. it can be programmed very intuitively. taking the temp of things has improved my cooking. pricey but worth it.

Takes the guesswork out of roasting meats

A very good tool for roasting meats without fear. This thermometer comes preprogrammed, but it's easy to amend the presets if you choose to. It is very easy to understand how to use and I especially like that it has an on/off button (my old thermometer didn't, I had to take the battery out to shut it off). The first thermometer I received didn't function properly so I returned it to Cooking.com. They shipped a replacement to me right away, and their customer service department kept me apprised via emails during the exchange process, which I was very glad of. I would recommend both the product and Cooking.com without hesitation to my friends, and indeed have done so.

Didn't work

I purchased the product for a gift. On the first use (large dinne party) the thermometer kept continually alarming and did not register an accurate temperature. In the process of returning.

I actually gave this as a gift to my mother and have used it with her one time over the holidays. She had given us something similar last X-mas and wanted one too.

I actually like this product better than the one she gave me last year. It automatically registers beef at the appropriate well done, rare, etc. temp for you. Mine does not. It only registers what ever temp you set it for.

this thermometer is okay for basic grilling and oven roasting use.

Programmed thermometer

Did not work properly. I used on meatloaf and could watch temp rising to desired degree in 5 min------way out of line

Good product but....

We bought this product to use with our turkey for Thanksgiving. My husband set up the turkey and we thought we were good but when he checked it the turkey was coming up to temperature after only an hour. We knew that wasn't right and realized the thermometer had to go into a deeper part of the turkey. At that point we decided to take the probe out and check it as needed.
The product worked wonderfully and we're looking forwarded to using it on a roast or something with more depth.

Digital Thermometer

It is by far the best I have owned. The preset temp of the individual meats is fantastic. It cooks everything proper and to it's best. The meat and chicken etc.. turn out so well and tender using this, because you never over cook anything. The alarm is great, it sounds off loud enough to hear in my home. So, if your unsure about ordering it, don't be. It's the best !

an instant read digital thermometer is an essential for any one who cooks meat. This one is great, and a good value

We used this thermometer for the first time and were pleased. Our turkey was cooked to perfection and the alarm feature was great by alerting us when the bird was nearing completion. I love the magnet back so I can mount it to the surface.
