The professional Messermeister Swivel Peeler is one of the most popular kitchen tools on the market. It rotates slightly as it moves to follow the contours of the food and remove a thin layer of skin. The extremely sharp, serrated stainless steel blade easily peels potatoes, carrots, ripe tomatoes, juicy peaches, slippery bell peppers, or tough-skinned mangos, and also shaves zest of lemons, limes, and oranges. The oversize Santoprene molded handle is cushy and comfortable, and won't slip out of wet hands, and the pointed end has an easy-to-use blemish remover. This is the original. Great Peeler!

by Laurie, ID
January 9, 2009

This is the best peeler I have ever used - I recieved one as a gift a year ago and am not sure how I peeled vegetables before... I gave one to all of my friends and family this year. I love the slightly serrated edge it really makes peeling potatoes, carrots, you name it a breeze instead of a chore.

Did not think I needed this even for free

by Brent, TX

I would have never expected a free bonus item to earn a spot in my top drawer. But this little peeler is amazing. The serations and the big comfortable handle make this my favorite out of about six peelers I had in the drawer. Another great job by Messermeister.

I have given this peeler to all of my kids and other friends. I've only tried it on tomatoes and peaches, but it works wonderfully! Definitely an addition to your gadget drawer!

had to have another one

by Alice, AL

Somehow, I managed to lose my other Messermeister serrated. Last Summer, I used it several times a day for tomatoes and fruit. It's the best. I knew I would have to find it or replace it before this year's crop comes in. It isn't available just anywhere, so I was very happy to read the mention for Cooking.com at Cook's Illustrated. You will never know how good this peeler is until you have one. Order yours now...go ahead, you really will need it.

Best Peeler EVER MADE!

by Laurie, ID
March 3, 2008

This hand peeler is just the best - really it is. It has a slightly serrated blade which just adds extra 'grip' and peeling power. The handle is comfortable - it actually makes peeling potatoes, carrots and other veggies/fruits a quick and almost enjoyable experience!

Great Peeler

by Paul, NJ
March 10, 2008

I have an OXO peeler that I have used for years. Works great, so I thought, until I tried the Messermeister peeler with the serrated blade. Zips through every vegetable and fruit I tried. I just wish the handle were a little larger. I have since retired my OXO.

Superb peeler esp for ripe stone fruits

by joyce, MO
June 25, 2008

Wow, this is the peeler if you love to use stone fruits. This has to be the most gentle peeler I own and it makes short work of all my peeling jobs not just fruit. The serrated edge does leave marks on the fruit flesh but I'm being nit-picky. Feels great in my small hand and is not tiring even for huge jobs. I just hope it lasts well because I'd rather spend my money on other items rather than a peeler every year.

Get a grip with this peeler

by Samuel, MN
August 4, 2008

I have used this peeler for about 2 weeks and continue to be impressed by the ease with which it peels, taking only the thinnest shavings if I apply little pressure. That appeals to my sense of frugality.

Can even peel a tomato paper thin

by John, NY
August 6, 2008

I thought this peeler would not work the way it was discribed in cooks mag. Great for lemons limes for the zest.
As for carrots and potatos I still love my echo peeler.
Over all for the professional this peeler is the best.

Great peeler!

by Deborah, LA
August 24, 2008

This peeler can even peel a very ripe tomato without mushing it and just remove the skin and very little flesh. It's the best peeler I've ever used at a good price.

I never dreamed I could peel a peach so easily. I am in love with this peeler! Definitely worth the price. Thanks to America's Test Kitchen for testing peelers.

This is it -- throw your others away

by Judy, CA

Sharpest tool in the drawer, makes prep a breeze. Bought one for my daughter at the same time and we headed for the peach tree to see if it would peel a peach. It did, as long as the fruit was firm. Same goes for tomatoes. Since then, it's doing everyday potatoes and carrots like riding in a limousine. Woohoo!

I love this peeler

by Patricia, MA

I use this peeler to remove the skins of tomatoes and peaches. It works so well and eliminates the need to drop the fruit in boiling water to loosen the skins.

Peels Great

by Wilbur, GA
November 30, 2008

I use a peeler a lot!! Ihave never liked the kind you buy in regular stores so have had family and friends send me them from overseas. ( the kind I used growing up) After 40 years I decided to try to find something here that I liked. I read the reviews on this one and decided to give it a try. It is GREAT!! I use it almost every day and am very happy with it.

Exceptional Peeler

by Beverly, TX
August 17, 2009

I'm certainly impressed with the two peelers I bought. It's especially wonderful to be able to peel a tomato without brusing it, not to mention a peach.
