  • MOST HELPFUL REVIEWS

  • Decent maker and coffee

I've had this unit for a couple weeks now and it's OK. Easy controls and I like the included water filter. The MT600 gets the water to 175 degrees, less than optimal but average for this price range. The carafe keeps the coffee at that temp for at least a couple of hours. (Sorry but coffee doesn't usually last longer than that around here anymore.) I was surprised at how small the carafe seemed to be, but still be 10 cups! It's a thin walled stainless carafe and not like the old bulky, glass lined one it replaced. Yes the other reviews are correct about the lid open/close marker is hard to read. A dab of liquid paper has solved that issue. And you can't be in a hurry when trying to dump/pour coffee out of it or it will dribble on you. The pause and pour feature is nice but you had better be quick about it. When you place the carafe back in the backed-up coffee will exit the brewing basket faster than the carafe lid can drain it. I like the fact that the entire top lid locks in an upright position. It makes it easier to fill the tank and set the coffee with without fumbling while in a coffee deprived fog. My only concern is that there is a small rubber gasket(?) that is used to connect the hot water pipe to the shower head assembly. It's there so the lid can be raised up and provide a seal when the lid is down. I am just concerned that this will be the part that wears out over time. The MT600 was my #2 pick. If I had a choice I would have gone with a Bonavita if Cooking.com had carried it, but over all, I'm happy with this coffee maker.

    I recommend this product.
