I bought this for my wife and she loves it! The plastic guard to add ingredients is a nice touch. It feels solid and well built. It is used mostly for light baking (not much bread dough) and it does the job well. |

We have had our old stand mixer for at least 20 years. It has served us well but it was time for an upgrade. Recently we moved into a new home and we are in the process of upgrading our small appliances to match the new kitchen. The Licorice Black color was exactly what we needed and the Hamilton Beach mixer offered all the upgrades that we felt we needed. We haven't used the mixer very much since the purchase but it looks like it will meet all of our needs. |

I was very pleased with the Hamilton Beach stand mixer. It is quieter than my hand mixer and does the same work as a more expensive stand mixer. The pouring shield arrived broken (made of plastic), but customer service at cooking.com was great and sent out a new one right away. I used the mixer with two cakes already and they turn out much lighter and fluffier than when I used to make them with a hand mixer. I look forward to using it for other things besides desserts, such as bread and meatloafs. I know it will serve me well. Plus the warranty on it is much longer than other brands of stand mixers. |

I have never owned a nice mixer, I have used the Kitchen Aide and it is wonderful, everything is designed well. Everything on this mixer is designed well except the handle on the mixer bowl. I called Hamilton Beach the day I recieved the mixer and stated my disappointment of the handle. It is not ergonomic at all, very cheaply designed. The design person or team was not thinking of comfort at all and it is not at all! The Kitchen Aide's mixing bowl's handle is designed the proper way. The handle is more important than most might think.
The mixer performs flawlessly so far, I made a triple batch of dough for a very large batch of Czech kolache's, the motor did not bog down at all. No sound of straining, it performed the way I expected it to. I have made merrange and whipped real heavy cream, both came out perfectly. I must say though that the warranty was a huge selling point beside the price, I had almost given up looking for a good mixer less expensive than Kitchen Aide. I am not against spending money on quality products, but I am on disability because of three auto accidents which have left me with severe back injuries and I virtually have no money to spend.
The description states the mixer weighs 27 Ibs, it does not, it's some where between six and seven, not as heavy as a gallon of milk. The fact that the motor area locks in the up position and down position is wonderful. The three beaters connect and disconnect with ease and stay in place. The mixer is very quiet and easy to use, I'm sure I will have it a long while. |

What can we say, we checked Consumer Reports for the best options for what we wanted, and chose this one primarily because it was rated to be the quietest tested. Otherwise, it ranked as high as the others, so this was a perk. So far, it's done everything we've asked of it, and it works perfectly. Couldn't ask for more. |
