Chicago Metallic Nonstick Popover Pan:
For baking popovers (the moist, bread-like muffins with lightly browned, crispy tops), it's best to use a pan made solely for this job. Chicago Metallic's Nonstick Popover Pan is fashioned with 6 extra-deep cups that are positioned far apart. Popovers bake, rise, and "pop over", but won't spill over onto the others in the pan. Nonstick surface ensures easy release as your popover stays intact. Design allows for simple handling without getting fingers or mitts stuck in dough. Sturdy steel construction means it won't bend or warp.

by Karen (Scottsburg, OR) 1 review If your looking for a heavy duty popover pan then this is the one for you. Since getting my pans I have made popovers for breakfast every other day..my husband can't seem to get his fill. The pans make your dough raise up so nicely and they never stick when you are releasing them. They brown the outside of the popovers perfectly. I have had cheaper made pans in the past that went right in the trash but these pans will be with me for the rest of my days. This is an excellent product and I have recommended it to my Mom who is 93 and still an avid baker. I wouldn't do this if I wasn't sold on this product.
by Charles (Framingham, MA) 1 review The ad on the web page stated that the "country of origin" was the USA. However, the label on the product said "made in China". I had specifically chosen to order from the Kraft store because of the "made in USA" statement and had rejected other sites because they stated that the pan was made in China.
by Nicholas (Arlington, MA) 1 review I've used a number of different kinds of pans for baking popovers, and I have always been disappointed by their performance. What I am hoping to find is a pan which needs only normal preparation--non-stick cooking spray onto a cold pan is the ideal I seek.
Since the Chicago Metallic Popover pan's instructions require additional steps, such as melting a pat of butter into each cup before using, the pan falls considerably short of my ideal. If I am making several sets of popovers, I can't keep opening the oven to preheat the pan. Come to think of it, I suppose I can make almost any pan non-stick if I use enough butter.
I haven't tried machine-washing the pans, even though the instructions allow it. I don't think I will risk it. Not at this price.
