Kitchen Supply Co. Pastry Cloth and Rolling Pin Cover Set:

Expert Review: This product is recommended in The New Cooks' Catalogue, the definitive guide to cooking equipment. Click for review.
The best way to ensure tender pie crust? Prepare dough with the lightweight canvas Pastry Cloth and Rolling Pin Cover, and you'll use very little additional flour, which can toughen pastry. Just rub a little flour into the fibers to make each piece an excellent non-stick surface. Clean cloths thoroughly before storing, so that no fat residue remains to affect the flavor of future doughs. Provides 20-in. x 24-in. of rolling surface. Rolling Pin Cover stretches to fit any reasonably sized rolling pin. (Item #110571) w1

loved the cloth...easy to use and clean...the rolling pin cover slid back and forth on my maple rolling pin, making it difficult to use...easier just to use the rolling pin alone.

Stiff

Pastry cloth is quite stiff even after numerous washings. I have to iron it before rolling dough on it. I found a cotton kitchen towel in my drawer that works better!

I could not find a pastry cloth in any of my local stores. This one appeared to be of good quality in the photo and I was not disappointed.

Finally - pie crust made easy!
Customer ReviewWould purchase againNov. 23, 2009

I've been baking since age 10, but never managed to master the ever elusive "flaky pie crust." Thanks to this pastry cloth and rolling pin cover, my pies are unbelievable! Today, I made my first pies using these products - to be served at our family gathering for Thanksgiving dinner (plenty of time to order from the local bakery if the whole experience went south). Thankfully, the pies turned out beautifully! And with almost NO mess! My daughter is home from college and she couldn't believe how simple rolling out pastry crust was. I'm definitely a fan - and the new rolling pin was fabulous too!
