I selected a Kitchenaide and have been very happy with it. I like how light the unti is and also the immediate move between speeds.

by LB (West Chicago, IL) 1 review Bought this as a Christmas gift for my newlywed daughter and her husband, so I haven't used it—but I have a fewer-speed (6?) version of the Kitchen Aid hand mixer and have been very happy with it for probably ten years now. Two things I particularly love about it: it's strong (can even mix bread dough throughout most of the flour addition) and the beaters are so easy to clean (because they're like thick wire rather than flat).
