All-Clad Stainless Steel Teakettle:

Tea drinkers, rejoice! A tea kettle doesn't get much more beautiful and functional than this Stainless 2-qt. from All-Clad. So much easier to care for than copper, yet it conducts heat with nearly equal efficiency. Three layers of quality metal, including a heavy aluminum core that covers the bottom and sides, ensure your water is piping hot in no time. Unique handle design offers a bit of modern appeal in addition to being carefully balanced and weighted. Indent on top of handle fits your thumb perfectly for added control while pouring. Handle on lid features double rivets that are non-corrosive. Cleans up beautifully use after use. Not for use on an induction range. (Item #127728) w4

The product seemed a little pricey for the way it looked.

The SS teakettle is great and well made. I like it above my other teakettles except i haven't got it to whistle yet. Plastic whistle may be defective? Or just require a giant head of steam?
The Teflon electric hotplate which i purchase just prior to the teakettle is what i want to complain about: there was no manufacturer name or warranty info with it. just a small sticker saying made in china. well most any food sticks to it and the teflon appears to be decomposing. i never used anything but the teflon spatulas which i also purchased at the same time and never turned the dial up past 350 degrees F or let it overheat. Also, as if that isn't enough to ask for my money back, you should also know that it heats unevenly over the surface; the end far from the plug gets hotter than the end near the plug so really you only get half the cooking surface and the other half is merely a warming area. Can I have my money back; i would be glad to return this junk hot plate to you for your examination.

This product was selected because it was stainless steel and whistled. The whistle is a safety consideration, and I would not buy a kettle without a whistle. This product's whistle does not work; there is no sound audible enough to carry 15 feet. If you want to talk on the phone and leave the kettle on, do not chose this product.

It is giant! It holds so much water so I don't run out all morning. It is not the prettiest teapot (Flat open handle) I have ever seen but it is very functional and keeps the water hot even off the heat.

I use this pot everyday. Surprisingly, you can take the whistle off once the heat's been turned off without burning yourself. You can also pour all the water out of the pot without having the lid fall off (I had problems with several other tea pots before buying this one!) It does take a while to heat up, I'm guessing due to the thickness of the evenly-heating bottom, but I love the overall quality and expect this to last for years.
