Overall this is a good design to make your own popsicles. I found that if you soak the wood sticks as suggested, they swell too much to slide through the top plate without splintering. Other wise it works very well.

The mold makes a good size popsicle, but the metal tray top doesn't work - the sticks freeze crooked and then the metal tray will not come off. I tried soaking the sticks so they wouldn't float - like someone recommended - but then the sticks don't fit in the slots. I tried waiting until the popsicles were almost frozen and then pushed the sticks through the slots, but I still couldn't get them straight. I've started covering the top with heavy plastic wrap and putting the sticks through it. Once the pops are frozen I put them in ziplock snack bags. When we eat them, I snip off the end of the bag by the top of the popsicle - keeps the mess off your hands.
