Cuisinart Power Prep Plus Food Processor:

Expert Review: This product is recommended in The New Cooks' Catalogue, the definitive guide to cooking equipment. Click for review.
The Power Prep Plus represents the first major redesign of the Cuisinart since its debut in 1973. It features a redesigned dough blade—actually, two sharp stainless steel blades—as well as a designated “dough” button and a redesigned feed tube with a simplified lid release. The smooth touch-pads wipe clean with a sponge. Unlike the plastic dough blade in previous models, these steel blades cut rather than drag through the dough, providing smoother kneading of larger quantities. The dough button reduces the RPMs during mixing, making dough less likely to overheat. This unit includes a cookbook and instructional videotapes.

I like everything about the 14-c. Power Prep Plus Food Processor by Cuisinart. I became familiar with Cusinart food processors and have had one in my kitchen since 1975. I would not be without one, especially the 14 cup. My new one is the best ever, in every way. I appreciate the ease it goes together and the new dough blade is very efficient (you are takling to a died in the wool

I purchased this to replace my old DLC-7E - 28 year old food processor. It is more powerful and does a nicer job on processing everything I have tried so far. I am glad that I got the 14 cup bowl processor, the extra space comes in very handy. I like the dough processing ability it has and occasionally make rolls with my food processor but still make my bread dough with my KitchenAid Mixer.

This machine is simple to use and simple to clean. I find myself using it freqeuntly while I'm cooking since it can do so many different types of tasks. I've made bread dough, pie crusts (and sliced up the apples for the pie too), tarts, sliced veggies, chopped onions, shredded blocks of cheese and lots of carrots, crusts for cheesecakes, strawberry cream cheese, pesto, marinades, etc. all with this machine. The dough hook and setting are amazing. I can have a batch of yeast dough rising within five minutes of assembling the ingredients on the counter. I highly recommend watching the DVD that comes with the machine.
