Percolation endures as the brewing method of choice for a die-hard group of coffee drinkers because it's fast, hot, and reliable. In addition, we're not aware of any other coffeemaker that makes coffee for a crowd and looks this good. It can't be beat for convenience--just add water (cup markings are easy to read), measure the grinds, and plug it in. A red light indicates when the coffee's ready—about 30 minutes for a full urn of 36 cups. The stainless steel loops on the handles stay perfectly cool, so it's easy to move, and the spigot doesn't dribble.
