Oyster Glove:

Expert Review: This product is recommended in The New Cooks' Catalogue, the definitive guide to cooking equipment. Click for review.
This slinky accesory looks like chain mail and is indeed the first line of defense against the knife in your other hand trying to worm its way inside the clasp of the mollusk. Knit with tiny, interlocking metal links and designed to fit either hand, this mesh glove is intended for use with oysters but would be suitable for any operation that requires hand protection—such as boning or filleting meat or fish, or even just slicing bagels.

Great for use with mandolin

I bought this as a gift for my husband. He was looking for something to protect his hand when he uses the mandolin. He loves it. It fits well, stays on, and cleans up easily. We're getting a lot more use out of the mandolin. The only downside is that it's expensive, really expensive.

Excellent product

After cutting my left hand three times in one month, I decided to purchase this oyster glove and use it until I got my confidence back. I love the feel of the glove. It has a lot of heft, but isn't too heavy, and fits well. I didn't worry a bit about cutting myself while wearing the glove. I only wear it now when I'm feeling tired or stressed, and it has already prevented several serious cuts. Thank you!

this isnt a magic MJ glove

This chainmail glove did the job. the price is steep and maybe could come with glove liners (or glove liner suggestions) My hands are rather skinny, but long digits. There was a lot of slack in the fingers & more so in and around the webbing of the fingers>hand.
I would recommend this product & especially this website to friends & family.

Nice quality

They are nice quality -- I actually ordered two just to be safe. The fingers are a bit longer than I expected and I have pretty large hands. Nonetheless, still worth the money I think.

I looked every where for this glove and found it on Cooking.com. It was the only thing my husband wanted for his birthday. He is very pleased with this product and he will be using for years to come. .
