This cutting ball can be used to make smooth, uniform rounds of all types of fruits and vegetables, from soft honeydews to hard turnips. The cylindrical stainless steel handle is comfortable and easy to turn (important for bulk jobs), and the rim of the head is sharp enough to cut into the hardest potatoes. The 1.2-in. cutting head is ideal for seeding a cucumber, scooping melon balls or shaping chilled ganache into chocolate truffles.

were disappointing. This one is somewhat more expensive, but we spent the money in the hope that it would be more durable. Of course, as we've only had it a short time, I can't honestly judge whether
or not it will last, but it does seem to be very well made so I think it will.
But certainly...so far, so good.
