This stovetop, cast-aluminum waffler rewards you with a thick 7" square waffle with a moist cakelike center that you can break into four smaller squares. It takes about the same amount of time to heat as a plugged-in waffle iron, and the results are just as delicious. Simply turn the waffler once during preheating and once during baking. Cleanup is minimal, as the cooking surface has a nonstick coating. Serve these delicacies with ice cream, preserves, or the traditional butter and syrup.
by Karen (Bound Brook, NJ) 1 review This waffler turns out great waffles - tender on the inside, crispy on the outside- but it is a little difficult the first time figuring out the settings you need to use on the stove. I had the heat set too high, and burned the first waffle; it was then very difficult to clean, despite the use of cooking spray. But, it did come clean eventually and setting the temperature to medium and heating for the prescribed times worked well. As one other review said - use medium heat!! After that first mistake, all the rest of the waffles were good. I'm thinking this will be good to take to the shore for our beach vacation - easy to pack (unlike an electric waffler) and easy to use with whatever stove is in the beach house we rent.
by Lanette (Tooele, UT) 1 review I haven't actually used the product yet because it's a Christmas present, but my father-in-law uses the same kind of waffle iron and I know he loves it. The product looks brand-new and I'm very excited to use it.
by Harry (Wallkill, NY) 1 review Waffler is well made and instructions are clear. Kind of a novelty item though. Takes a while to heat up on the stove, and the setting used needs to be higher than the manufacturer recommends. It also takes a bit of practice to get the right amount of batter to fill the entire grate and get a complete waffle (over the recommended cup of batter). The waffles do come out light and fairly crispy once you get the hang of it. I'd call it a rather expensive toy rather than a everyday tool.
by Niko (Roseville, CA) 1 review This is a great product...it is so much more versatile then an electric waffler- it allows you to make waffles even if you do not have electricity- say on top of the woodstove, camping, etc. The product works really well and the instructions are very thorough. We love the belgian waffle recipe....the waffles turn out amazing. Your first use will be your learning experience...but after that you will be set!
