Cuisinart Brushed Chrome Prep 11 Plus Food Processor:
For busy cooks who seek convenience and efficiency, we offer the Prep 11 Plus Food Processor. This machine has the capacity to blend up to 2.5-lbs. of dough, or works just as well for chopping a single clove of garlic -- no need to switch bowls. The wide-mouth feed tube is 2 1/2 times larger than other brands and fits whole fruits and vegetables. It's not only easy to use but easy to clean. Features lower RPMs for mixing and kneading dough, plus a pre-set dough control that works at the touch of a button. Use it with the new Power Prep stainless steel dough blade, which cut rather than drag through the dough, providing smoother kneading of larger quantities. It fits all discs from existing Cuisinart 11-cup food processors. The unit comes with a 4mm medium slicing disc and a 4mm medium shredding disc. Workbowl is shatterproof, heat and cold resistant. Extra Values included are: How-to Video, with bread demos and recipes from professional chefs. Featured in Brushed Chrome.

by Mary (Denver, CO) 1 review This processor replaced my Cuisinart purchased in 1978, which is still working. A chip in the back of the upper part which locks into the bowl, allowing the unit to process, required me to hold it down, making it difficult to work efficiently.
My concern with the new processor is the plastic piece connecting the work bowl to the upper unit as it will be used nearly every day. Will this last another 31 years?! In the meantime, it is a wonderful machine!
by Marilyn (Long Island City, NY) 1 review Fast, can hold an ample amount of food, liquids. Performs all of the functions nicely, cut, chop, grind, etc.
by Susan (Penn Valley, CA) 13 reviews We've always had a very small Cuisinart food chopper, but never a real food processor. My spouse wanted a food processor and I was okay with that but not wildly enthusiastic until I saw that this Cuisinart is affordable AND comes in red. I looked for it on cooking.com and found it about $20 less than the local kitchen store. I couldn't resist that.
This food processor is great. I haven't had a chance to try it for a large variety of foods yet. We made cookies and it was just what we needed. It mixed the heavy cookie dough with no problem. I used the machine to smooth a tomato soup and it worked great, but the liquid leaked. I don't think this machine is meant for liquids and I put too much into it. I also tried making pie crust but I need to work on that one again. :)
The dvd that comes with the machine is helpful, but I wish it showed more clearly how to do things like slice or shred vegetables. They do it so fast and it's not really clear to me how to do it. I liked seeing the recipes made, but the chefs presume more knowledge of the machine than I have. Also, they show a neat attachment that can turn the machine into a mixer and I'd like to know if that is something I can get for this model.
If you want a food processor for everyday cooking, this one should do the job for you.
