Around our house, the teakettle is always hot and used often during the day. This kettle is thoughtfully designed with the spout at the highest point and a handle that you can both grab and pour well, as opposed to some round, spun wire, or loosely fitting wooden handle.

The only flaw we found is that the whistling teakettle doesn't. The lid is of such shape that it sounds like it's trying to whistle with a mouthful of crackers. In our case, it is not a big issue, but could be difficult to occasional users.

Overall, great pot, heats well, doesn't add flavors to the water - we can live with that.

I read other's reviews of this kettle before purchasing it. The one piece of information missing in all those reviews was that it is necessary to remove the whistling cap from the spout in order to pour your water. The cap remains cool so it's easy to remove without getting burned but it's still an inconvienience. A common complaint I read in other reviews was that the kettle would not whistle. I found that the whistle would not work if the whistle cap was pushed on too tightly. Infact, if the cap is on tight and the filler lid is snugly in place, one or the other will pop off as the water heats up since the steam can't escape.

I do like the design of the product, it heats quickly with its large base and is not too heavy without feeling tinny or cheap. It is well balanced, easy to pour, and the metal handle stays cool to the touch. It has a beautiful chrome finish

This is a quality product. I had read a negative review of this kettle; it had stated that 'the handle is made of plastic' - this is not the case. The kettle is well-constructed, handsome, and is just as pictured.

Tea kettle I've got does not whisle, handle heats up, small handles made out of cheap plastic - overall I did not feel this is something I wanted to keep - it's in the mail on it's way back to cooking.com
