Wusthof Hollow Edge Santoku Knife:
Styled after the Japanese Cook's Knife, this 7-in. blade is just right for sushi and sashimi - or anything else that needs to be sliced paper thin. The hollow indents in the blade allow food to slide right off without sticking. Also works well when dicing onions or other vegetables.
Prized possessions of professional chefs, Wusthof knives are an invaluable asset of any kitchen. Every element of this renowned cutlery contributes to its precision and ease of use. In Solingen, Germany, each piece is hand-forged in 38 manufacturing steps by skilled craftsmen. The high-carbon stainless steel blades are hardened to maintain a sharp edge and full tangs provide perfect balance with riveted, high-impact triple-riveted composition handles.
by Patricia (San Diego, CA) 1 review This knife is great. It slices tomatoes without squishing them - even ripe ones! It is so good, I went out and bought one for my brother for Christmas. And I bought a rockered one the same size (easier to chop repetitively) and a 5" version. If only I had one years ago...
by Lorna (Pleasanton, CA) 3 reviews I finally got my Santoku knife and I love it. It's very sharp and cuts through vegetables, meat and whatever else without any effort. Since it is so sharp I'm sure to pay careful attention when slicing. It is now the first knife I reach for.
by Karen (Danville, KY) 1 review cuts through potatoes and veggies like butter. Comfortable handle, good size for everything, even chopping garlic. Not too big, not too small! Love it.
by David (Chantilly, VA) 2 reviews I have about 12 Wusthof knifes and this one is my new favorite. It is easy to use, very sharp and you can cut meat in very thin strips. Did I say very sharp I mean VERY sharp. Great Knife.
